They have 4 losses and 2 ties. One of their wins for the week was over a suspect Stillwater team who only had one quality win. The other is over now #6 Edina. EP went from #6 to #1. That's a stretch when teams between the two had good weeks as well.

They all have at least 1 quality win. Who has the most of Karl's top 10-15? What about the flip side, less than stellar performances? (Ties and losses outside top 15).

I'm not saying EP isn't #1. But at this point, EVERY position is arguable depending on POV.
Well when all choices are arguable, then I lean towards the top talent (and #1 player in state, no debate). That's why EP deserves #1. Stillwater isn't necessarily questionable, they are really talented. They just haven't played the schedule that's going to benefit them long term. I argued so last year and still think the same this year. There's a reason Hill schedules EP, Edina, Wayzata and Minnetonka every year. One of them is guaranteed to be a top 3 team. I don't think HM will end the year rated this high as they are a coin flip to win or lose against any top team and they still play a bunch. They could lose any of Elk River, Maple Grove, Blaine, STA or Moorhead. I suspect they'll win the rest. If they somehow win all of those, they'll be your #1 team. Hard to trust Stillwater's schedule until they play Holy Family. If they lose that, a 22-3 record won't mean much...

And I'm throwing this out there right now. Watch Tartan. They may not lose again this regular season. Not spectacular, but could upset someone at sections.

From a PageStat statistical perspective, Hill Murray's schedule strength isn't that bad. 18th toughest through yesterday's games.

Hey Lee,

Did something wonky happen with PageStat this week? Hermantown fell all the way to 25, and 3-16 Denfeld is the #6 Class A team, just ahead of TRF and Warroad. :?:

Considering their conference, Hill has come long ways.

I'm just saying the difference between the top 6-7 teams is moot. It's just that close.

Well the good news Karl is you got 10, 14, and 23 right...

It's easy to pick apart anyone's rankings when there is so little separation.

Thanks for putting up your rankings so we have something to banter about.

QRF will be updated Monday morning after getting hacked this week and having to re-enter all the scores for all sports.

It's very close in PageStat. You have less than one rating point separating the Top 11 in AA. I don't know if that's ever happened before. A bunch of teams are in contention at a point where the best have usually put distance between themselves and the "next tier". This season is turning out to be a lot of fun, and I can't wait for the Section and State Tournaments.

This is in direct opposition to Class A where you have Hermantown and then a bunch of chasers in the distance. Far distance, it appears.

Love me that chicken salad! nom nom nom nom

Most people agree that Hill doesn't have the high end talent that many of the other top 10 teams do. And because of conference their schedule doesn't look as difficult as others (although this last week has justified their ranking when most questioned it). But with Stillwater & Edina having a couple of recent losses, and EP starting slow and piling up some losses, they're number 1 by big recent wins and overall record.

The top 10 is definitely wide open. Personally, I don't think HF, LN & Centennial are moving up enough week-to-week and Stillwater & Edina are moving down enough week-to-week. Some teams seem to be given the benefit of the doubt more than others.

Edina 7 Centennial 3 (Tues. Night)

Can't see how one can have the Cougars ranked ahead of the Hornets.

I think most of these were done before Tuesday (except mine and blueline).
