Looks like the coaches will begin the seeding process as early as Sunday, February 5th with games getting underway as early as Monday the 6th.

http://www.mshsl.org/mshsl/showsection.asp?actnum=460

Some handy references to get an idea of each team's strength by section, with both to be updated after regular season play comes to a close:

http://www.minnesota-scores.net./classs ... 10&class=3 (Class AA)
http://www.minnesota-scores.net./classs ... 10&class=2 (Class A)

http://www.bgoski.com/KRACH_SEC_20170129.htm

Looking at just KRACH as of Friday morning, here are the highest rated teams by section:

1AA - Lakeville South
2AA - Eden Prairie
3AA - Eagan
4AA - Hill-Murray
5AA - Maple Grove
6AA - Edina
7AA - Elk River/Zimmerman
8AA - Brainerd/Little Falls

1A - Red Wing
2A - Delano/Rockford
3A - Mankato East
4A - St. Paul United
5A - Blake
6A - Alexandria
7A - Proctor/Hermantown
8A - Warroad

As always some sections will be more competitive than others, and upsets are inevitable.

6A coaches must have moved the date up, as it's now posted!
8AA also added to my post above.
As of noon Monday just four sections outstanding, two in each class.

It makes more sense than to vote the day before...travel is necessary in 6A

And 8AA may be the most fun because nearly everyone can beat each other....

Now only three sections that haven't been seeded: 4A, 5AA & 6AA.

See third post in this thread which is being continuously updated.

Thanks, notahockeyguy. Section 4A has also been filled in, with the only problem being it's the seedings and results from last year...I will ignore until the new 2017 seeds have been posted.

Since 2011 I think, unless that State Consolation Andover team from a few years got the 1 seed

Curious how they determined Blaine as the 1 seed over Maple Grove?

Maybe MG loses to HM, Blaine ties HM,beyond that I don't know, or that Blaine has 1 fewer loss (19-4-1VS 19-3-2)

With the seeding of 5AA (link now added to 3rd post in the thread) only 4A is TBD.

The majority of the rankings say Maple Grove should've been given the #1 seed. I know, it's virtually apples to apples, so who cares, right? The difference is #1 gets the bye and plays the winner of SLP and Rogers. #2 most likely will have to go through #3 Centennial to get to the finals. With that, the Maple Grove folks are probably not too happy. Here's why:

Maple Grove is ranked #3 by the coaches, #2 by KRACH, #2 by QRF, and #4 by LSQ (all AA rankings). Their KRACH schedule was 9th toughest.
Blaine is ranked #4 by the coaches, #4 by KRACH, #5 by QRF, and #2 by LSQ. Their KRACH schedule was 18th toughest.

Maple Grove has nice wins against #6 Elk River, #5 Eden Prairie, #8 Centennial, #7 Minnetonka, #9 Lakeville South, and #2 Breck. Losses to #1 Edina (twice) and #2 Hill Murray, with the tie on Saturday against Blaine. They were 6-3-1 against current top 9 teams. 7 of those 10 games were on the road.

Blaine was 4-2-2 against the top ranked teams. Beat #4 Proctor/Hermantown, #8 Centennial (twice), and #6 Elk River. Lost to #1 Blake and #6 Elk River. Tied #2 Hill Murray and Maple Grove. 4 of those 8 games were on the road.

The only explanation for dropping Maple Grove down was their recent 1-0 loss to SLP/CR. It's that, or the coaches strictly went with the LSQ rank. To me, Maple Grove should've edged out Blaine for that top spot. In 10 days we'll see how smart the coaches were with their decision.

Section 4A is now linked above in the 3rd post of this thread. HOWEVER, upon closer examination, someone forgot to put the seed numbers next to the teams!

Re: 4A here's what it appears to be, feel free to chime in.

#1 St. Paul United (bye) - plays the winner of:

#4 Simley and
#5 Henry Sibley

#3 Mahtomedi vs.
#6 Minnehaha Academy

#2 South St. Paul vs.
#7 St. Paul Blades

Agree? Disagree :?:

Centennial will win this section, so the whiners can stop complaining about seedings. Man-up MG and play the game.

Centennial is ripe for a big time upset. I can see them knocking off Maple Grove in an OT type game, but can they pull off two big upsets and beat Blaine also? They are 0 for 10 against the top 6 teams (from both AA and A), with their "signatures" wins being at Eagan in December and their come from behind OT win at Andover last Friday. I don't see any other quality wins on the schedule. I guess you can count TRF since they're ranked 10th in single-A, but their overall KRACH is 46th.
