My vote would be for 1970. 3 of the 4 quarterfinal games went into OT. St. Paul Johnson beat Coleraine in 5 OT to advance to the Semifinal. The eventual champion Southwest had to overcome a 3 goal deficit in the 3rd to win in OT against North St. Paul. Edina beat Warroad 3-2 in OT.
Edina had to best Johnson in the Semi in OT, and the Final was a 1-0 OT battle between Southwest and Edina, a huge rivalry back in the day.
As for recent tournaments, 2017 is definitely one of the best in my book.
Is this the best tourney ever?
