MN HS Sweater Tournament

Post by ryguyMN »

In the spirit of March Madness, my cohort at our Minn Puck site picked out 16 current sweaters from across the state that he liked, and I put together a tournament-style bracket. Since we only took 16, I know some good ones missed the cut. Personally, I do like MAML and Warroad, but were not included. We'll keep the polls open a week for each round. Something kind of fun.

We were thinking of running another pool of 16 teams that didn't make the first tournament, such as MAML, Warroad, and Roseau, and having the winners of each pool square off to determine a grand champion. It's an evolving idea.

SO when HM beats out Hermantown, will plante complain again about the private schools and their advantages?

Kinda biased but that Injun jersey is pretty cool.

Finally got around to updating the tournament for semifinal matchups after a busy couple weeks at work.

Maple Grove, Robbinsdale Armstrong-Cooper, Edina, and Grand Rapids remain.

Gotta give some love to the A/C Wings on what I think is a very creative design. Before their merger, Armstrong was the "Falcons", while Cooper was the "Hawks". What did they have in common? Wings, of course! The way the designer combined the A and the C with the combined wing flowing away is very nice, and the sharp color contrast is striking also, IMO.

I've always liked Edina's uniforms too, but more from a traditional point of view. Since personal taste is so subjective, their great tradition may very well win out, and I'd respect that too.
