Went to the Friday games (Day 2) to check out the two Minnesota teams. Moorhead's Lance Leonard looked sharp for the HP 18 team against the Wisconsin Seniors. Stopped 25 of 26 shots, including a breakaway. Bruce Plante was on the Minnesota Seniors bench in the evening game. 85-90% of the crowd were scouts.
I guess I was a little surprised that the MN HP 18 team didn't dominate tourney play being that Ben Almquist, the Moorhead top line, Michael Heitkamp, and James Marooney were all on the same roster. Maybe I need to tip my cap to the North Dakota, Michigan, and Wisconsin teams closing the gap from previous years where at least one Minnesota team was on top of the standings.

Good perspectives!
Great question on Wisconsin North Dakota and Michigan, depends which kids participate from year to year I guess.
Agree Moorhead is going to be an absolute powerhouse next year, excellent returning goalie, powerhouse top line , two top D and very solid after them. Everybody a year older, bigger, better. And very likely no early departs . By the time all is said and done, there will likely be 6 D1s coming from the team we saw at the X in March. You never know about section 8 I guess, but almost guaranteed Spuds will be back next year and we could see a repeat of the championship game. All pundits so far have them in Top 5 in state next year I think .

Where are all the Hermantown hockey players. Usually 2-5 listed. Cause they'll end up with on the elite league north team like they've done every year since 2007.The Exiled One wrote:HP 17's (2000 BY)HP 16's (2001 BY)Code: Select all

Was more or less listing notable players - not making comparisons.goaline wrote:Michael Heitkamp in the same skill level discussions with the others? you talent evaluator you

I think he's referring to BT. I'd call that a chicken or egg kind of deal.redtundra wrote:GS?Shortshift wrote:1 "Little" shocker on the 16's IMO!
