Hermantown arena
Is/are there plans for a new arena in Hermantown within the next 5-10 years ? Would the boys ever combine with Proctor like the girls? The girls in A so the boys could stay in A. Just curious......

Re: Hermantown arena
Proctor is building a new arena themselves, so I doubt they would want to co-opt with anybody. Especially Hermantown.kniven wrote:Is/are there plans for a new arena in Hermantown within the next 5-10 years ? Would the boys ever combine with Proctor like the girls? Yes, an arena plan is moving forward. No, imho that will never happen.
Re: Hermantown arena
Good news! I look forward to hearing more about a new arena in Hermantown over the next few yearsHermhawkey wrote:kniven wrote:Is/are there plans for a new arena in Hermantown within the next 5-10 years ? Re: Hermantown arena
I agree. They're about to have the nicest Arena in the area outside of Amsoil all to themselves. All the Proctor kids playing in Hermantown are outside or driving all over the place trying to find ice.east hockey wrote:Proctor is building a new arena themselves, so I doubt they would want to co-opt with anybody. Re: Hermantown arena
I think a co-op between Denfeld and Proctor is way more likely and would be a good thing if you look at Denfeld's trending numbers.kniven wrote:Is/are there plans for a new arena in Hermantown within the next 5-10 years ? Re: Hermantown arena
Anything is possible down the road. But Proctor's numbers should be good for at least the next 10 years or so. Denfeld could be in trouble before that, but I imagine they would co-op with East since they are the same District. Proctor/Esko will be one to watch in the future now that Proctor has the brand new Arena.Wet Paint wrote:I think a co-op between Denfeld and Proctor is way more likely and would be a good thing if you look at Denfeld's trending numbers.kniven wrote:Is/are there plans for a new arena in Hermantown within the next 5-10 years ? Re: Hermantown arena
They're in a tough spot as far as a new Arena. For all of the advantages open-enrollment brings to their program, it also creates some challenges. The number of Hockey Players in a city that size is higher than anywhere else in the state, and a lot of those families don't contribute to the tax base. The taxes are already so high there is no chance of passing a referendum for a new Arena, so it has to be privately funded. The word right now though is that an area Auto-Dealership magnate who open-enrolls from Proctor has pledged a large amount to get it started. Hopefully they can raise the rest as it's badly needed.kniven wrote:Is/are there plans for a new arena in Hermantown within the next 5-10 years ? Give it a rest Jeffy(Mike)....that family lives on Pike Lake and would have to drive an 15 extra minutes to get to Proctor. Good for them if they wereJeffy95 wrote:They're in a tough spot as far as a new Arena. For all of the advantages open-enrollment brings to their program, it also creates some challenges. Extra 15 minutes? Maybe if they're riding a bike.Hermhawkey wrote:Give it a rest Jeffy(Mike)....that family lives on Pike Lake and would have to drive an 15 extra minutes to get to Proctor.
