The Stanley Cup will be in the Twin Cities on Thursday afternoon when Woodbury native Jake Guentzel gets his day with the coveted piece of hardware.Sparlimb wrote:which one had the leading goal scorer in the stanley cup playoffs?minnscout wrote:If you base it off the article in Lets Play Hockey which shows which schools produce the most D1 players Benilde is top school. Taking a look at programs right now, the top programs are BSM, HM, and St Thomas. Doesn't mean these are top teams this year but overall have best programs and results.
Guentzel was a key cog in the Pittsburgh Penguins winning the Stanley Cup last month and plans to bring the trophy to the HealthEast Sports Center in Woodbury from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
A graduate of Hill-Murray, Guentzel, 22, led all postseason scorers with 13 goals and consistently seemed to rise to the occasion when the moment called for it, netting game-winning goals in Games 1 and 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. He finished three goals ahead of teammate Evgeni Malkin in the goal-scoring department, and five goals ahead of Finals MVP Crosby.
Guentzel had 16 goals and 17 assists in 40 regular-season games as a rookie. His father, Mike, is an assistant coach at the University of Minnesota.
Guentzel also will compete in Da Beauty League this summer every Wednesday in July and every Monday and Wednesday in August.
