This weekend’s League playoffs will include all Minnesota-based teams from the CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Fall Tier 1 Leagues. The teams will play for the League Championship Taconite Trophy, as well as the right to play in next weekend’s Minnesota District Playoffs for the right to play in the USA Hockey National Tournaments in April. In the Girls 14U and Youth 15 classifications, the playoff champion, runner up, third place team and consolation champion will advance to next weekend’s playoffs. In the Youth 14U classification, the playoff champion, runner up and third place team will advance and will be joined by the Shattuck-St. Mary’s 14U team.

“SCM has a great history of streaming events in Minnesota, and we are excited to have them stream our Tier 1 playoffs,” said High Performance Director, Mike MacMillan. “The competition and talent level in our Fall Leagues has been incredible and we’re thrilled that people who can’t attend the games will still be able to see our kids compete for the right to go to the National Tournament.”

The League playoff preview as well as brackets and schedules can be found here. The District 10 Green Giants earned the top seed in both the Youth 14U Division and the Girls 14U Division. The Green Giants won the Taconite Trophy in the Girls 14U Division last year. The District 3 Walleye earned the top seed in the Youth 15 Division and will look to defend their 2016 League Championship. The Minnesota District Playoffs will kick off on Saturday, October 8 at the Plymouth Ice Center.
