Hermantown Youth Hockey trifecta

Post by kniven » Wed Jan 10, 2018 11:46 pm

Hermantown SquirtA, PeeWeeAA, and BantamAA squads are all top 5 ranked state wide. Is this unprecedented to anyone’s knowledge?

The only way you can pull that off is to be a huge Association like Edina, or put together All-Star teams of the top players from all over a large Metro area. Hermantown has been able to do that. Duluth_Topper named all of the transfers and open-enrollees on all of those teams in a different thread. Top 5 players on each team are from other Associations except for one kid at PeeWees.

I believe Moorhead would have accomplished that with what ended up being the graduating classes from 93-97. Not sure about what official squirt rankings were out there atbthe time.

Those would have been entirely home grown kids.

Moorhead hockey is very impressive over the years that’s for sure. I always thought of Moorhead and Duluth East the 2 most dominating AA programs outside of the twin cities Metro. Hermantown would in that group but they play A hockey. Hermantown is clearly the most dominant elite program in A and it’s not even close statewide.

Now if Hermantown could do it with their own kids that might be impressive. Take out the Proctor and Denfeld kids and see what happens.....

Who are these kids?
And how long have they been in the HT program?

It makes so much sense that Proctor and Hermantown merge their boys hockey program like the girls do. With the new arena going up in Proctor, and alot of their talent on the boys side coming from proctor.
