Seeding 2/12/18

Post by Northernlakes »

1. Hermantown
2. Greenway
3. Virginia
4. Duluth Denfeld -strong finish, close with Eveleth. Play a strong schedule.
5. Eveleth - Have Denfeld and North shore to close out.
6. Hibbing -a little drop- tough finish with Virginia and Greenway.
7. I- Falls - cannot shake a weaker schedule overall
8. North Shore
9. Proctor
10. Ely

My opinion....... :?:

Certainly possible Hibbing gets the #6, they did beat Falls and have quality results vs Virginia, Alexandria, and Duluth Marshall. We'll see if Hibbing's tougher schedule buys them a break.

Seeds 4-7 are very interesting...

I think the winner of the Denfeld/Evelath game tonight should grab the 4th seed. The loser could find themselves in the 6th hole.

I do get a little bit worried about the seeding in this section. The Iron Range teams like to team up

With Denfeld’s win over Eveleth it seems like the seedlings would be

1, Hermantown
2. Greenway
3. Virginia
4. Denfeld
5. Eveleth
6. Hibbing
7. Falls
8. North Shore
9. Proctor
10.Ely

Let the games begin. So I guess we agree Northernlakes. We both can’t be wrong. :-)

4-7 should be interesting to hear Friday. Hibbing has been in the tank for the last 3/4 of the season with only one section win since 12/8. Denfeld has played strong the last two weeks after falling to IFalls. The sweep of Eveleth, North Shore and win against Hibbing puts them ahead of them. Eveleth has been up and down in section play sweeping Hibbing, getting swept by Denfeld, tying North Shore, and splitting with IFalls. IFalls lost to Hibbing in early Dec. They split with Eveleth, beat Denfeld, swept North Shore, and tied Virginia. Section 7 should be a blast to watch come playoffs.

Greenway Raider.. 7A

Yes we cannot both be wrong.........

1, Hermantown
2. Greenway
3. Virginia
4. Denfeld
5. Eveleth
6. Hibbing
7. Falls
8. North Shore
9. Proctor
10.Ely

That # 4 vs. # 5 game should be fun to watch. Both teams have some flaws, but they battle. See how it shakes out Friday at the coaches meeting.
Interesting .......

Can anyone stop a GREEWAY/HERMANTOWN section 7A final?

Falls is the toughest team to seed. Neither the Falls or Denfeld have any quality wins outside of the Section. The tie with Virginia could be big along with the fact that the Range coaches do seem to stick togethr as one poster noted.

So, if we look at just the records against each other. Using only Hibbing, Denfeld, I Falls, and Eveleth.
Hibbing 1-3
Eveleth 3-3
I Falls 2-2
Denfeld 3-1
If this is correct seems to me the strongest case is for Denfeld. This can’t really be solved head to head because everybody has beat and been beaten by somebody on the list. How much will the tie with Virginia be worth? The Falls still would not have a winning record against seeds 3-7 in the section. If Virginia were thrown into the mix.

The top 4 seeds are now clear. They should be Hermantown, Greenway, Virginia and Denfeld.
