New Prague (6) vs Prior Lake (3) at Dakotah Ice Arena 7:00 PM
Chaska (5) vs Eden Prairie (4) at Eden Prairie 7:00 PM
Blake (6) vs Wayzata (3) at Wayzata 7:00 PM
St. Louis Park (5) vs Benilde-St. Margaret's (4) at St. Louis Park 7:00 PM

Slim pickings for decent matchups despite all the games. Some rivalry type stuff like Chan-Fire, O-MG, Blaine-SLP. Similar out-state in some of the Class A games, but nothing worth getting out for unless you follow one of the teams.

Game of the Day - Benilde-SLP

Revenge date - Wayzata-Blake

Puncher's chance - New Prague and Chaska

It'll be much more interesting from here.

#8 Hastings 6-19-1@ #1 Lakeville North 13-10-2.....North has played a very tough schedule but outside of Eastview hasn't won any of those games. North also has losses to Chaska, Apple Valley, and Benilde on their record. Hastings has a bunch of bad losses but also have a win against Hill-Murray. Of all the 1 vs. 8 games I think this could be the closest and best chance at an upset. Of course it could also be an 8-1 snoozer.

www.big9conference.org has the Century vs. JM game at Graham Arena, not the Rec Center which is where every other website has it being played. I'd trust the Big 9 site.

Wayzata 5-3 over Blake

Bears showed up, but trailed 3-0 after two. A tide-turner was a minor called with :10 left in 1st. Five seconds later Trojans were on the board. Big diff with 1-0 at intermission versus scoreless.

Huge surge with Miller Time for two goals in 3rd to cut it to 3-2. Wayzata doubled the margin, but it got real interesting when Blake made it 4-3 with their goalie pulled. Late empty netter.

Blake is on track to be extremely good in two years. Maybe even next year. Loaded with young talent. Think B-SM or Holy Angels winning state good potentially.

On the AA side of things, Chaska over EP is probably the most significant result of the night. Rochester Mayo came close to pulling the biggest upset to date by taking Lakeville South to 2 OT, but ultimately lost. And St. Louis Park flipped the script on their rivals Benilde and earned a date with Edina.

Tight games in 3AA as well, as Eastview and Rosemount both squeaked out 1-goal wins. Not too surprising given the parity within that section and the South Suburban in general. I assume Burnsville held on to its 2-goal lead with 2 minutes left; can't find a later score. 5-seeds are 4-3 with one game left (4AA), while there haven't been any larger upsets yet.

Karl.......Just admit you have no clue about anyone south of I494 and move on.

No one in the south is suprised how tight the games with the Lakeville schools ended. You keep expecting Sats81 manipulated North team to show up. Guess what? He moved on.

Chaska was formidable last nite. All kids healthy and off suspension since I last saw them. But curious if anyone saw Orono beat them last week-comments on that game?

Nice game summary, O-town. Blake does have some crazy good young talent on their team, and it seems like there will be more on the way. With the #1 and #3 scorers being freshmen, as well as the starting goalie, the Bears have some nice building blocks to make their way up that difficult section. As a Breck fan, I am not looking forward to the Blake games over the next few years. The Mustangs simply do not have the horses to compete with them (pardon the terrible pun).
