It will be interesting, I think if I had to pick one not to make it, I would guess STA because of their recent struggles since jumping to AA. However I do expect them to be the 4 seed, so for them to lose then either WBL would have to get over their first round curse or Centennial would have to break free of the recent 5AA struggle at state.

By my calculations, since they introduced seeding in 2007, the following have made it to Friday night:
4 out of 4: 4 (36%)
3 out of 4: 2 (18%)
2 out of 4: 3 (27%)
1 out of 4: 1 (9%)
0 out of 4: 1 (9%)
Grand Rapids probably could have been a 4 last year, so that switches the 3 & 2 categories.
Odds are that at least 1 will fall. But I'm trying to think of a year where it seems the top-4 are pretty clear cut like this year. Perhaps '08, where all 4 made it.

Unfortunately I think in order to get to this, we could see a lot of blow-outs on Thursday. These top 4 seem a big notch above the rest of the field.greenwayraider wrote:It could be one of the best semifinals ever. Bet they break the attendance record. If anyone has an extra I’ll gladly take it off your hands.
Yes there can be upsets and one of the lower seeds might surprise, but I think the table is set for some bad games on Thursday

Re: AA Friday night semis
If Hill, or to a lesser extent LVN somehow replaces Duluth East on that list and my guess is that a lot of people (as in fans) won't make it to the Friday night session. The interest level would be extremely low to the casual tourney-go'er.elliott70 wrote:Assuming the state seed will happen the way we wall think it will happen...

I will be there either way and wouldn't mind seeing another Edina vs. Duluth East classic. So many great tourney memories from their games over the last couple decades, and it never gets old!

Yep, could well be an ugly game and an upset. I always prefer the ugly game to be the second of the session. Especially the second of the session.Joe2015 wrote:Oh for sure: we will probably get a close game or two.
