Well that throws a monkey wrench into our summer plans. Seems unreasonable that the cut off is in September of one's junior year for unofficial visits. After the school year of their sophomore year would seem more reasonable and allow families to visit campuses in the summer without having to miss school during the year.
This does seem strange. The burden should be on schools and coaches for compliance, not kids and families doing this for the first time. Unofficial visits just means setting foot on campus. So a freshman future athlete can’t accompany an older sibling on a college trip? Prevent coach contact until junior year - that solves the problem of early commitments. But unofficial visits should not be restricted like this.

Most programs want potential athletes to see the campus/facilities while school is in session, and during the season for them. That way they get a more true picture of what the school will be like.goaliedad31 wrote:Well that throws a monkey wrench into our summer plans.
