Warroad struggled with Lake of the Woods, being tied 1-1 after two, but pulled away in the third.

But I can eat crow on picking Pine City as a sleeper in 5A, as Chisago Lakes crushed them 6-1. SOG 51-11 Chisago.

Blake over Cretin. Nice win for Blake, but a weird loss for the Raiders. They thoroughly outplayed Blake in the second and fell further behind. A goal was disallowed and a favorable Bear bounce and it was 3-1 after two. Broz cleaned up a nice one after Miller rang the crossbar, boom 4-1 in the 3rd. Reid made some great saves.

East Grand Forks outshoots Red Lake Falls 72-1 in a 9-0 win.

The game of the night may have been Holy Family-Prior Lake, with Bailey Huber stopping Jackson Jutting on a penalty shot with 7 seconds left to preserve a 1-0 win.

Of Century's 20 wins, only 3 teams are still alive; Mankato East, South St. Paul (both beat teams, Winona and Northfield, Century had beaten) and Owatonna who beat Century last night.

The Big Nine is pretty bad but you can't control your conference. I think, looking at last years schedule, a lot of Century's non conference schedule this year was the second year of 2 year contracts and this is a team that until last year hadn't really been competitive in a weak 1AA since about 2010. Nothing there screams for teams in or around the top 25 in AA hockey to schedule a trip down to Rochester or even take a home game. Century only loses about 3 kids from this team, returns their goalie and nearly every forward. Hopefully they can get some better games next season even if that means taking 1 year contracts and traveling some. Then they can avoid coming into sections with the toughest team they have seen all year is a Pagestat 45.

Mad scramble in the HF crease. The puck was loose in the crease and there were HF players diving in behind the goalie. Pino was called for covering the puck in the crease. All four referees took several minutes to decide on the call. Jutting took the PS with about 7 seconds to go and missed the net high to the stick side.
