Hard to remember all 16 distinctly.
I would maybe put LN at 1
move Tonka to 2 and then Edina

At the bottom I agree with Anoka
but probably move Grapids up a notch or three.

I guess I am not ready to do it completely.

Some of these are before my time so I am only gonna rank from 2010 until now.

The best team shows my bias, but I would say Edina 2014, they were extremely deep and came into State on a big winning streak. Once they got to state they were just so dominant, they were just toying with the other teams.

Second I would have Lakeville North 2015. They could easily be first and probably will be for most since they were undefeated, but I have them below Edina since this 2015 team is basically the same as the 2014 team that lost in the finals, just a year older.

Third I would have Minnetonka from 2018

Fourth, EP from 2011

5) Benilde 2012. This one was a hard one to rank, I went back and looked at their regular season schedule and they did not do as bad as I thought. They were the five seed at state I remember, but if I recall, they were expected to just be amazing in the preseason and kinda underwhelmed people during the year.

6) Edina 2013. Just a really deep team that wore everyone out.

7) Grand Rapids 2017 They finished out the regular season pretty poorly and kind of underperformed as well in the regular season I thought, but the talent was there

8) Edina 2010. The only team that beat Minnetonka that year, and they did it twice. I don't think many people thought they could win that championship game

9) Wayzata 2016. There regular season was what you might expect for a Wayzata team now where they fluctuated a lot. Some of their loses were pretty ugly as well. But come playoff time they locked it down. I mostly remember Hammering Hank

Doc, come on man. Centennial 14th out of 16. They didn't give up a goal.

As always , depends on the criteria used.

Pure depth of talent? Edina 14

Dynastic? Edina and Roseau

or One and Done? Anoka

Upsets? Grand Rapids, BSM ( and 4 out of 4 qtrfinal upsets that year)

Most exciting win? EP 2011

Most unbelievable? Centennial shutouts, will never be repeated , and LVN undefeated champ , not for another 20 years?

Most " its about time" ? Tonka, Wayzata

Biggest NHL stars : Cretin and EP ‘09

Most recruited talent , and also biggest
coaching feud : Holy Angels

Worst rink parking lot : Cretin

Replace 2016 Wayzata with 2016 Hermantown and that year’s champion would move up at least a few spots in the rankings. Wayzata heated up in the playoffs, but HT was a buzzsaw for most of the season and just romped through state. (And cue this post sparking endless bickering and being moved to the Hermantown thread.)

I will attempt to rank them all later, but my number 1 would be that Centennial team.
Very impressive with 3 shutouts.
What is a Green Wave anyway?

This makes for a fun set of rankings this week...

1. Edina 2014
-I don't think any team over this time frame was more dominant in the playoffs relative to their competition, which included the one-year-younger version of the #2 team on this list. Also will probably have the most D-I players of any team in this stretch once the dust has settled. Could dock some points for regular season losses, but they were really, really, really good.

2. Lakeville North 2015
-Undefeated. What more can you say?

3. Minnetonka 2018
-Dominant team, and won it in a season when the top tier of teams was as good as it's been since I've been watching.

4. Centennial 2004
-Three straight shutouts and a one-loss regular season is pretty good. Didn't have quite the level of D-I talent of the three teams above them.

5. Hill-Murray 2008
-Some might argue this one, but the way they won it (convincing upsets over undefeated Roseau in the semis and the Edina dream team in the final) is the most impressive run in my time watching HS hockey.

6. Holy Angels 2005
-Beat a loaded Moorhead team in the final to cap off a 4-year run in which they were the premier program in the state.

7. Edina 2013
-Basically the 2014 team one year younger. Had a couple somewhat closer calls and more regular season losses than many others, but still pretty convincing in their march to the title.

8. Eden Prairie 2011
-One of the more impressive senior classes in state history, and won the most entertaining final of this whole stretch.

9. Benilde 2012
-Benefitted from a lot of upsets in the state quarterfinals, though they were a lot of fun to watch and finished off the title with some flair.

10. Roseau 2007
-Had a pretty easy road to the title, but rolled through to it. Probably my sentimental favorite among this group as I loved the star power of Aaron Ness and Mike Lee.

11. Eden Prairie 2009
-As with Roseau they didn't have the most thrilling run through to a title, but Leddy and Rau together was a great combo.

12. Edina 2010
-Lacked the front-end talent of 13 and 14, but incredibly deep. Owe Hill-Murray a slight assist for wearing out Minnetonka in the semis.

13. Wayzata 2016
-Certainly not an all-time great, but excepting perhaps 2008 Hill I don't think any state champ was tougher or nastier defensively.

14. Grand Rapids 2017
-Had their adventures over the regular season, but caught lightning in a bottle at the right time. Very different makeup from most state champions.

15. Cretin-Derham Hall 2007
-Lose points in my book for a relatively easy run to the title and didn't have a ton of D-I talent, though that McDonagh kid turned out okay.

16. Anoka 2003
-Before my time paying close attention, but they were something of a surprise, not really dynastic, and had the fewest D-I players of any state champion for as far back as I have records (into the 80s).

My order:
3) Edina 2014 -who was their best rival?
1) Lakeville North 2015 - UNDEFEATED
2) Minnetonka 2018 - beat Edina 2 of 3 & DE in final
11) BSM 2012 - got on a roll, but didn’t play anybody
15) Edina 2010 - if Louie Nanne is one of best players?
12) Cretin 2006 - Ryan McDonough
4) Eden Prairie 2011 - best game (aside 1996 semi & 69 HB
6) Roseau 2007 - simply a great team
9) Edina 2013 - they’re Edina
5) Centennial 2004 - this one hurts to concede 😉
10) Hill-Murray 2008 - VERY deep team with no stars
13) Eden Prairie 2009 - Nick Leddy
8-Grand Rapids 2017 - a team of destiny
7) Holy Angels 2005 - another great team
14) Wayzata 2015 - had “the Hammer”
16) Anoka 2003 - beat defending champs AHA in semis ☝️

I am going to respectfully disagree here, Karl. I am okay with where this team is ranked, but I do not think they are very similar to the 2014 team, or the same team, but a year younger.

The 2013 team graduated 11 players and then lost Connor Hurley to Juniors. On those 12, they had to replace 5 defenseman, including their top 4 and their goalie. The only player that returned with over 20 points was Malmquist.

The returning 2014 players and their point totals from 2013 were

Malmquist-35
Tyler Nanne-19 (Tyler played forward in 2013 before being moved back to defense in 2014)
Munson-16
Fidler-11
Foley-4
Masterman-4
Raasch-3
Mismash-0
Haug-0
Oesterrich-0

As for the games, they were much less dominant I would say as well. In the playoffs the 2013 team had one goal wins in the section semi-finals and final over Jefferson and Burnsville. If you recall, that semi-final against Jefferson required a third period comeback and needed a very controversial Jefferson goal to be waved off just to make the finals. At state the games with East and Hill were pretty tight winning by 1 and 2 goals.
Compared with the 2014 team who in 5 playoff games outscored the other teams 30-7.

So I don't disagree that the 2013 team was good, they were, but I think they were very different from the 2014 team.

2013 was an older, experienced and really deep team. They had some very good defenseman who had got a lot of ice time the year before.
2014 was also really deep, but they had a lot of guys step up. Fidler and Munson really stepped up from third line role players to the top two point getters. They had a group of Juniors who played JV the year before like Meyer and Fuss who were key and then they also had a super sophomore group in Zuhlsdorf, Wait and Bellows.

I put them 6, so I don't think it's really a bad spot to put them at. Bottom line is they beat Roseau by 4 & Edina by 3 goals in their semis & finals. A very deep, top to bottom quality team with no weak link. I think you have them in a good spot.

In hindsight, I think I have Centennial & Holy Angels too low & Wayzata & Grand Rapids too high. Perhaps a bit of recency bias. Probably EP '09 too high as well.

Louie Nanne was nowhere near one of their best players. Their top 3 scorers were Fogarty, Taft & Sit....all Division 1 players with one NHLer.....

It’s not personal, one team has to be 16th and one team has to be 1st...And on my list 2010 is 15th ☝️

None taken. And I'd agree that I'd put them more in the back half....just was wanting to point out that Louie Nanne was not one of their top players.

Louie Nanne is definitely a lightning rod, both with HS & Gopher fans....

I’m sure Louie is a damn good Bio Tech Engineer (believe that was his major at RPI) and will be VERY successful in his business career...as a hockey player...a bit of a lightning rod.

Man, being a junior and senior these two years at Edina were not even close to comparable both in Edina and across the state! Looking at those names alone and it brings back waves of memories including Raasch getting a concussion and never being the same. Gave him a lot of grief in band.

You are 100% correct that 2013 was older and seasoned. 2014 was guys stepping up and making immediate impacts with a tough schedule. Credit to Rohkohl in net too for minimizing anything that made it past the defense on their run to the title. Guy doesn't get enough credit from that team with how goalies have performed at Edina over the years.
I can have my cake and eat it too.

My rankings (keeping it since I remember truly watching in '09)

1. Edina 2014 - Most fun I have had being a senior at the school and in the band.
2. Minnetonka 2018 - So dominant and as Karl said, the other top teams were right there with them and they beat them all
3. Lakeville North 2015 - Undefeated, but we missed out on the rematch against a 22-1-2 Edina team that dominated all year through sections and stumbled in State
4. Edina 2013 - Anthony Walsh 5-hole FTW
5. BSM 2012 - Lucky with the upsets and the last second goal against Edina with 18 seconds left, had the power of Jabs on their side...and Grant Besse.
6. Edina 2010 - First tourney I attended, remember running home with the last 4 championship tickets Edina had on sale. Personally meaningful.
7. Eden Prairie 2011 - remember watching on TV as a youngin' and seeing Rau skate away with the GWG.
8. Hill-Murray 2008 - This win will forever haunt my memories. This and 2009 against Moorhead. Good for HM.
9. Eden Prairie 2009 - Beat HM in OT in the QF and rolled the rest of the way.
10. Wayzata 2015 - Hit their stride at the right time and Lake Conference pride
11. Grand Rapids 2017 - The most boring championship crowd I have been a part of.
I can have my cake and eat it too.

Scary to think of the 2019 teams Edina and Minnetonka would have without departures...

Sadly, departures are now a fact of life for MN HS Hockey. I think that the HM 2013 team that lost to Edina in the Final would have won with Jake Guentzel.

Not if he hadn't figured out being the top of the power play yet and he contributed to three shorties. GB. Besse doesn't get enough credit for who he picked to have that incredible state championship performance GB

1. Lakeville North 2015
-Most impressive and complete HS hockey team I have seen since the Bloomington Jefferson 94 team

2. Roseau 2007
-How a tiny town such as Roseau does it is amazing!!

3. Grand Rapids 2017
-In this day in age of hockey a small town team beating a metro area powerhouse is incredible.

4. Wayzata 2016
-Throw back team to 1970's style gritty in your face physical hockey with some added scoring flare. Darn fun team to watch.

5. Centennial 2004
-Total shutdown team. Made a star studded Moorhead team look punch less.

6. Cretin-Derham Hall 2007
-Got it done with some east side three sport athletes.

7. Eden Prairie 2011
-Beat rival Duluth East when Rapids could not in a fabulous HS hockey game.

8. Anoka 2003
- Had so many good teams fall short. Kudos to earning the title. Not easy to do.

9. Holy Angels 2005
-Beat a loaded Moorhead team in the final to cap off a 4-year run in which they were the premier program in the state.

10. Edina 2010, 2013,2014
- Edina best uniforms not even close. Like to mention that the economics of hockey will no doubt have them winning 3 in a 5 year span more often than not. Less competition from Rochester, St. Paul and Minneapolis and northern teams.

I will say - that if I go by which one do I think about most often and catch myself smiling ,
it’s definitely Grand Rapids 2017 . The drama of events surrounding that team in 2016 and 2017 , Section 7AA Kniven streamed final game , combined with the history and the all northern final at the X
