It’s possible my info was correct at the time and mshsl meetings/conversations changed that info.

Just saying it didn’t happen so not as credible as you stated or thought. You presented it as a done deal. It clearly wasn’t.

Re: 7AA 2019-2020
I couldn't and still don't want to, even though it would validate why I had reason to put some trust in what I was told. Given where it came from I have no reason to believe it was made up. I firmly believe this person at that time had some correspondence with the MSHSL which led them to believe Brainerd was going to 7AA, which isn't hard to believe as Brainerd has been in 7AA before. Not sure how anything that has happened before would be a "that would never happen" ahem. I think the MSHSL has meetings and discussions and there are probably more than a few changes that are given serious consideration and then after further discussions are scrapped.

Re: 7AA 2019-2020
Just a thought on 7AA now with 8 competitive teams, meaning no more 14-0 blowouts of Cambridge, I think a lot of fans would love to see a quadruple header like 4AA does with their quarterfinal games all in one day at Aldrich. I know teams like to have one last home game for QF, but it sure would be fun to have all 8 teams in one place a week before the semifinals.

I'm sure Duluth would love to host.
I’m guessing DJ had one of the metro arenas in mind. Lol
Although then we wouldn’t be able to watch all the games at MSG, er I mean Amsoil.

Can’t do that. The northern teams would always win every single year due to home ice advantage. Could rotate it between Duluth and the cities. Then every other year you’ll have a northern team and a southern team as section champs since the home team always wins the game 100% of the time.

Nobody on here has claimed Amsoil is the only reason for the northern teams winning. Clearly they have had talented and deserving teams. Nobody is trying to discredit those teams. But to say it isn’t an advantage is just delusional. To say it is close to neutral is delusional. Your attempt to steer the conversation away from the obvious logical conclusion by twisting words is nothing more than a cheap trick. There is no way an impartial party would draw the same conclusions as those that support section playoff games at Amsoil.TheHockeyDJ wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 6:09 pmxStanleyCup55 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 4:29 pmCan’t do that. Oh and don’t give me any BS about how pretty Amsoil is or how great the hotel room views are etc. If a facility nicer than Amsoil popped up in Elk River or Andover I doubt any of you would be on here pashionately pursuing a venue change. Not to mention fan comfort/experience shouldn’t be the number one factor considered.
Re: 7AA 2019-2020
Transfer talk in different thread is lame.
So any thoughts on 7AA on June 6th. I’m looking forward to the Edina Summer Classic. Especially if CEC is partipating. I also love our schedule this year. We played a Duluth East regular season schedule next year. Well, we aren’t Duluth East so knock that crap off. It looks like CEC schedule this winter.

I’m going to assume “big time” that Clafton leaving Grand Rapids early are total rumors. With that being said, I think Grand Rapids will once again carry the big stick for our 218 North Hockey puck this coming season. Sounds like Duluth East is their own “Esse” type drama within the program. CEC only second year in last 5 were the same coaching staff will here for consecutive years - brought in to win multiple state titles.
Happy 4th of July season, everybody. . Family, friends, being an American, and of course, insane about our Minnesota state high school hockey and each’s favorite squad

Re: 7AA 2019-2020
As a diehard fan if the purple, state tournament birth. As an objective fan of high school hockey 218, probably a 3 or 4 seed. The purple have had the talent legitimately since 16-17, but locker room noise and the coaching instability have been the undoing of the incredible talent coming through the program since 16-17. CEC hasn’t had this kinda talent come throw their youth program before for three consecutive years. I’ve been watching, salivating, since the seniors from last years squad were peewee. The junior and Seniors this winter are stacked as well. I do think this will be the purples last year being stacked though. My feeling is several players will leave early after this upcoming season.BP wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 1:22 pmKniven - where do you see CEC in 7AA this year?kniven wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 12:51 pm I’m going to assume “big time” that Clafton leaving Grand Rapids early are total rumors. Jacob Jeannette told Randolph this week he isn't coming back and is heading to juniors. 2 separate sources told me this.

Re: 7AA 2019-2020
So this is now 2 players not coming back. I don’t believe it for a second. I’ll be in Edina next weekend. Im looking forward to seeing those Duluth East Greyhound kiddos. I just might have to tell them how much I appreciate all of them. Tell them 218 hockey is better with everyone of them in itInThePipes wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 8:27 amHeard rumblings of this too...Duluth_Topper wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 8:25 am Jacob Jeannette told Randolph this week he isn't coming back and is heading to juniors. 2 separate sources told me this.

A little shocked over Jeanette, is it maybe a rift between him and Randolph? They do what they think is best, but would think another year of HS would benefit him.
Re: 7AA 2019-2020
Well. I think the Edina summer festival proved that 7AA is not going anywhere. It will be interesting to see the Elk River elite roster numbers this fall to try and gauge the kind of team they’ll have this winter.

After Andover, 2-4 is a real battle. Season is going to be crazy competing. I’m not even thinking about state, to tell you the truth section 7AA is the best all by itself.

Re: 7AA 2019-2020
Section 6AA will likely be the best section this year with:
Edina
Wayzata
Blake
BSM
Cretin
One of those teams will be on the road for the section. QF.
7AA is always competitive, but not the best. Case in point: Lake Conference Teams (Sections 2 & 6) have won 8 of the last 11 state titles , Edina-4, Ep-2, Wayzata-1,
& Minnetonka-1; with 3 of those games having a Lake Conference team as the runner-up.
During that same period: One 7AA title by GR and 3 Runner-ups, all from Duluth East.

No doubt about it, Section 2 and Section 6 are the premier sections. The Lake Conference is easily the best in the state. Section 7 is probably third but only because of Andover.
