No doubt about it, Section 2 and Section 6 are the premier sections. The Lake Conference is easily the best in the state. Section 7 is probably third but only because of Andover.
Agreed. 7AA is has more single A programs that want to play with the big boys.......

Isn't there only 2 programs that actually opt up in 7AA?

I believe St. Francis is moving to single A next year.

Incorrect on several levels. St. Francis is now in 5A, and are the second largest true Class A school by enrollment. Also, East (1363 students) is well above the A/AA cutoff point and is not opting up. Northfield is the smallest AA school at 1252 students.

All I’m saying is that if these teams each petitioned MSHSL to move down to A, each’s request would seriously be considered being approved.

Why would East even consider opting down? And no, it wouldn't be seriously considered.

Well. I think the Edina summer festival proved that 7AA is not going anywhere. It will be interesting to see the Elk River elite roster numbers this fall to try and gauge the kind of team they’ll have this winter.
Summer hockey doesn’t mean a thing! Rosters and play aren’t what they will be when it matters. Get a life!

UGH
First time I've checked the board in a while and see not much has changed.
Kniven either spewing non-sense and/or throwing jello at a tree to see what sticks.
There would not be any serious considerations by MSHSL for a double A team to go down to A.

I can think of two AA schools that the MSHSL have allowed to play A: Armstrong/Cooper and Minneapolis.

I have. I work with a few young men who play for Rapids. They love the competition, but they also realize a summer scrimmage doesn’t dictate or guarantee anything about the coming season. All drama and rumors from you. Come up with some new and meaningful information for a change!

Indeed. We’ve had plenty of drama in Cloquet. That’s behind us now. My purple Lumberjacks are awesome. “Good things” ahead for my boys

Haven't checked out this bored in 3+ months and see the most idiotic assumption relating to MN high school hockey ever... that East would ever consider opting down to play. SMH! Ken, have you ever heard of Herm Edwards? look up his advice on people "thinking before they press SEND". Apply that to your posts here.
It is what it is!

It’s my opinion, wether it’s right or wrong. I see all points though as valid points. 7AA is awesome regardless. I’m an idiot who just happens to be a a diehard. If a monkey said that the earth is flat, would you debate the monkey or just move on. I’m a monkey

If the Langenbrunner transfer rumors are true, it would really cap off a bewildering plummet for a Cloquet run that was supposed to have them among the best in AA for 3 years.
Talented players magically transferring to Cloquet as bantams, a head coaching carousel, and a likely too-influential parent seem to have created a toxic environment that has prevented these kids from developing cohesion and momentum as high school players.
This totally sucks. I was really looking forward to Cloquet being rewarded for their commitment to staying in AA. They would have been the darlings of AA, but now that the ship it is a sinkin', the rats they are a leavin'.

I just confirmed from an ultra reliable stand up guy, my kiddo, will be skating for Eden Prairie. I’ve got to go know.

Not shocking to hear Langenbrunner news, but sucks for CEC. I also heard yesterday that another CEC skater may be leaving. Will leave it to someone else to say who if/once it is confirmed.

Awful if true. What's worse is that I have a feeling this kid will go to Hermantown.
Good thing they ran Esse out of the job. Just think how bad things would have gone had they left him in charge!
With Kuhlman, Michauds x2, Bender, Langenbrunner, and mystery player all leaving, Cloquet is really pushing Hibbing for the "Grass is Greener" transfer award.

My guess would be
Galatz, he went to Cloquet just for the hockey, and was recruited by Jamie Langenbrunner. He is also a good buddy of Biondi
Was thinking the same.
Leave it to Cloquet to turn the hockey world upside down on the ol' free agent market.
Oldtimer has seen it all now, 'fo sho'!
burn too many bridges up north?
Curious what the locker room banter would entail between a "218er" and "952er" ?
This be a riddle wrapped within an enigma for oldtimer.
