I'm confused, what HSEL teams playing Tier 1 teams like Blue Army? Kids had to tryout for HSEL (well, some/most) and Blue Army is a lot of STA kids. What are the two intermingling? Seems off given the number of HSEL teams that they'd need to go outside the league.

It's basically like an A team playing a B team and the result was a 10-2 beat down that gave some confidence to the EL MAP south team who hadn't fared well in the opening weekend. Also gave a major injection of points to the team--22 to be exact and boosted MAP South Players into Point Leader status. That's the cynical side.
The non-cynical side is that MAP South just played their affiliate Blue Army team in a friendly scrimmage where everyone was just having fun and a good '0l competitive time.
Either way, those games outside EL probably shouldn't count toward EL Standings or EL player point totals.

Maybe Sanford Power will apply the same amount of beat down to Blue Army in Fargo this tonight and tomorrow?
Suppose they need to pass their stats because they are a bunch of unknown SCC and TRF boys.

HA! I think maybe a number of teams have scheduled late season "standings steroid" games against some local Bantam teams too!

What was the result of last night's affair?

Selected comments :

Andover kids are crushing it so far .Need to add them to top first scoring line candidates , on the other thread

The EP imports production so far solidifies why they are preseason # 1 rank

I think YHH podcast definitely missed , not having Blaine in lower top 10. Richels , Hanson , Reiman all look super, and they have 12+ returning skaters .

So the HSEL allows the stats accumulated vs Blue Army? Does every team in HSEL get to pad their stats vs Blue Army? If not, super lame.

Random comments on Tuesday 8 pm game which was a scoring fest ending in 6-6 tie with SOGS 35-30

Lots of scouts in town, from last weekend and upcoming weekend tourneys
Stramel did not play
Joe Miller with hat trick
Grant Ahcan 3 assists
Nick Pierre 2 goals to retain league scoring lead and goal lead
Soph D Burkholder has been putting on some huge legal hits, showing he is capable ,
(but somewhat against unwritten league protocol for heavy hits and no one else seems to be doing it)
L Middlestadt impressive as usual, and Mason Wheeler also stood out at D
Not a great night for goalies

Yeah, I was making that point. Two games against the Blue Army (after a tough start and last place in the league) appeared quite helpful to the stat cause. i don't think everyone gets to play the B Army. They are, again, affiliated with MAP South.

The fact that they are (going off the posters here) adding stats from non- elite league competition is just another step in the wrong direction for the league as a whole. The talent has seemed to diminish a bit every year over the last few years. It’s more about the sponsor (Map South) wants vs the league needs.

Same thing with the goalies last year. You were missing 2 of the top goalies in the league among other worthy players. Just seems like a watered down product now. I used to hit 8-12 games a season. Haven’t been to one in the last two years and just don’t have that “want” in me to see it.

Again - bring the best players. Make 6 equal metro teams and make it watchable again.

Just my two cents.

Meyers woke up-showed a little more of his abilities
Jones 1g 3 assists
Pierre points are indicative of his play
Very skilled and dominant no matter the opponent-hard to believe only a sophomore

I see Shattuck has a 15 year old Fleming from Rochester on their roster. Any insight?
