Great meeting you too! Westie is the forum’s social chair.

NHL agents, Junior scouts, Tony & Danny, the whole freakin’ Wack Pack. This game had it all.

What game were you watching? Edina played well from start to finish. For a team that many had given up on after a 2-3-1 start, last night's outing showed that a "down" year for the Hornets still means a worthy foe for most HS teams.

I’ll be at the Rosemount vs Andover game in SLP Thursday. After beating MG 4-0, & DE upsetting Blaine & then drubbing the Cougars...it appears that Andover is simply “that good” rather than DE being “that bad”. And I have a new favorite DE player, diminutive 9th grader Cole Christian (both my sons were bigger than him as PeeWee’s) but can this kid skate & handle the puck & slither out of being crushed into the boards. Also was entertaining to see 5 DE players on the PP against DM, and all 5 had the Captain C on their jerseys 😲. Since only one of them played a regular shift on varsity last year, must have been a reward for the other 4 seniors enduring 2 years playing JV 😉

What in the world does this have to do with with Edina beating Rapids? Rosemount, Andover, MG, Blaine, Centennial and of course DE....Just Sayin.

I think it's a head start on the this year's use of the transitive property.

GR might want to hit the weight room in the off-season, the first half of the first period looked like it was going to be a fun high Peace game until Edina started playing the body, the Rapids players wanted nothing todo with that big physical play by the hornets. I never Scene a Grand Rapids team so scared of physical contact.

It was a disappointing showing for GR. The victories over BSM and Minnetonka were by a hard working, motivate team. Against Edina I thought Rapids lacked energy and fire. Then once Edina got up on them it seemed panic set-in with whiffs and rushed passes. Maybe it comes with a young team. We'll see what tonight brings.

I'm not making any excuses for the play of Grand Rapids but I have seen this many times where teams have a long bus ride (a few hours) and come out lethargic. I call it bus legs. We may know more tonight but EP will be tough.

Immigrant / Bus / Edina-Hopkins , agree with your thoughts . ....When Boltman was on the blue line during DelGrecos shifts, was just one example of the contrasts ...

In order to have an entertaining game 2 teams need to show up and one did.
Majority of Rapids - Edina games dating back to the 70's have been good match ups.
This one was U-G-L-Y to watch like the past 2 seasons.

I didnt walk away from that game feeling Rapids had played a bad game. I thought they played hard and showed plenty of effort. I thought they did a nice job of moving the puck out of their own end but once they hit the red line Edina did a great job of shutting them down there. The Hornets played very aggressive on defense and it worked very well for them.

Clafton looked sharp and in position on a night when he saw plenty of rubber.

I was less disappointed in GR and more impressed with Edina. Just my thoughts.

Interesting perspective. I enjoy games when a team plays well. I watch more hockey than anyone else so I'm probably like a movie critic that is looking for different things than someone else.

What if Rapids showed up and they just aren't very good? They hit the road and the road hit back. Roseau, Warroad, Edina. They should have a good showing tomorrow against Elk River.
Be kind. Rewind.
