Man was that entertaining. Not always the prettiest hockey in terms of D and goaltending, but I’m certainly glad I kept the game on!

Just the emotions of the crowd and the complete momentum swing. Alex fans will be angry the missed goal in the first and was the game tying goal in or off the post for the Flyers... Refs gave them 2 PP's in OT though and LF finds a way. Both teams had runs and the Flyers break the Alexandria curse of recent years. Should be a fun re-match when they play again. Fun Class A game

Didn’t catch much of the game, but the Hounds’ woes continue. I’m sure Karl will provide a recap that he doesn’t really want to write, but will anyway out of sense of duty.

Edit: Checking Karl’s tweets, East was up 2-1 after one and sane score after two.

Fulfilling my duty: yeah, this one was pretty gross. East had a very solid first period and was up 2-1; they didn't have a great 2nd but did enough to hold the lead. But then they gave up a sad bleeder in the first minute of the 3rd, and then the D got gashed a couple times, and before long they had found a way to lose.

Not helping things are a heap of injuries, a Covid case, and a couple kids out of commission for other reasons; the team is barely fielding a JV right now because they're so short on bodies. The missing ones include probably 2 of their 3 best forwards and another a top 4 defenseman.

Not judging the new coaching staff much at all here, as they walked into an unenviable situation. But, yes, it's amazing how far things have fallen.

Little Falls 1 and well ... Most Likely Cathedral 2 and still not counting out Monti but tough one for the Moose.

Denfeld 5, Hibbing 0
Nice bounce back for Hunters

This game was 1-0 Denfeld heading into the 3rd; they were up 20-15 in shots. Then the Hunters popped two in early in the 3rd and while Hibbing gave some pushback, Denfeld just kept coming.

Pretty even game until Denfeld took a major in the 2nd. Hibbing had looked good on a power play shortly before the major, so I thought they might get a goal or two, but Denfeld went into absolute beast mode on the penalty kill, probably getting more shots than Hibbing did during the 5 minutes. From then on Hibbing started to look tentative and hesitant, and never recovered their initial intensity. Final shots were 29-22 Denfeld, but Hibbing didnt have many quality scoring chances.

Denfeld is certainly a step ahead of Hibbing and Rock Ridge, and the #2 seed should be theirs.

As an Alex fan, I would be more angry about the fact the Cardinals squandered a 5-0 lead that they had in the second. Yes, the no goal is huge, but if you want to be considered a big dog, you need to hold that lead.

If you are a Flyers fan, you have to hope that their team somehow cleans up their tripping game. Man, how many tripping calls were there with the skater dragging his back leg? I will admit, I was a distracted while watching the game, but it seems like when LF got a penalty, it was a play like that.

Not sure, I watched the live stream. Didn't look like many Denfeld fans on the visitors side, which is the only side you can see on the stream. The Rock Ridge game had great attendance, though.

My kid let me down last night, making me leave after the second period of the LF vs Alex game because he had some homework to do (honestly, I didn't object as I thought LF winning wasn't going to happen). Sheesh! So I watched the last period on You Tube. Amazing ending and much unanticipated. I can't imagine being on the bus home to Alex. Had to be a bitter pill. I'm sure the rematch will be electric! As a Flyer fan, it was especially satisfying as, whenever there was a scuffle, the Alex players kept pointing at the scoreboard. OOOF!

I keep forgetting that Chisago is now in 4A Many of the new section alignments haven’t stuck in my head yet.
Nonetheless not a good performance by the Moose, and they look to be in the dogfight of the mid-pack 5A teams.

Your eyes didn’t deceive you. LF had four tripping calls, and at least two or three were how you described. In fairness, one of the trips was almost necessary; Flyer d-man George Moore was clearly beaten at the blue line by an Alex forward, and he prevented a clean walk-in attempt.

Even worse, Alex still had a five goal lead with two minutes left in the second, and LF scored two late goals to narrow the margin from 6-1 to 6-3. If the Cardinals close out that period strong, the come back almost certainly would not have happened.

Eventually took a 5-4 lead and a 6-5 lead to finally finish this wild one 7-6 in OT. If you like offense this was a great game to watch. It will be interesting to see how these two teams improve before season end. Neither team played their 3rd line much in the 3rd, but both teams got goals on the night from their 3rd lines. It appears that Roseau, Moorhead and Elk River will be in the top 3 all year, but others will have something to say before it is over.

Anybody at the LF/alex game with a good look on either of these goals/no goals?
I have watched the plays on YouTube numerous times. Can’t tell either way if they are in or not. Alex no goal looks like pipe to me on the video.
LF goal can’t really see the puck, but all players keep playing, even the ones right by the net. That leads me to believe pipe too.

Saw the Andover-Roseau game. I think Roseau is a top ten team and hope to see them in March at the X.
