Kaposia

Post by hockeyhead » Mon Oct 03, 2005 9:44 am

Anyone have an idea of who is in the Kaposia and what the pairing look like? This is usually the top tourney, I'm wondering if it's changed due to SSP moving to Class A...

Hockeyhead

Last I heard it was South St. Paul, North St. Paul, Hibbing, Eden Prairie, Blaine, Anoka, Roseville and AHA. No idea what the pairings are.

Looks to me like SSP has stacked the top bracket so they have a chance to get to the championship game. I would say 3 of the top 4 teams are in the top bracket. SSP has typically put the top team(s) on the other side in hopes to meet them in the championship.

Hockeyhead

I believe they did that so they would not end up playing a team in their conference until the last day. They don't want to play NSP three times this year. NSP would be a surprise to be playing championship night. I can see EP and the host school playing.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... >mnhock at: 10/3/05 1:45 pm

I'd rank NSP #4 in the top bracket! I don't think they have to worry about them! It's too bad Stillwater and Wayzata couldn't be in the 8 team field!

Here's how I have them ranked. How do others see them?
1. Eden Prairie
2. Roseville
3. Holy Angles
4. South St. Paul (tie: they will split the season series)
4. North St. Paul
6. Hibbing
7. Anoka
8. South St. Paul isn't doing anything that any other team that hosts a tournament doesn't do. Just watch the tourney brackets for any sport, unless it's something like Schwann's Cup. The home team makes up the brackets...I remember doing the same thing when I helped set up youth tournament brackets.

It's their tourney, they make the rules... and the brackets.

If I were a coach in the top bracket, I would look at it as a great opportunity. Win or lose your team will be playing two of the top teams in the state. NSP may be a little down; but as a player you have to look forward to seeing how you would match up against top players like Thunstrom & Hogan.

Wild man

I agree! What a tournament. I have been to some in the past in SSP but it is hard to get to it every year. What an opportunity to play the best teams. Only 1 or 2 teams in state even have a shot at being unbeaten. Therefore because a team wil probably lose why not play a couple of games against the best. It makes me happy to watch.

Have you all preordered your section 6 semi final and Championship tickets yet?

EP better get through the first game, I like Rosevilles chances. Should be a barnburner game either way...

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ckeygal at: 10/18/05 9:45 am

I though Wayzata was playing in this tourney. Does anybody know where they are playing their Holiday Tourney?
