I don't like ragging on this but I have to. Alexandria gets a player thrown in the box because he jumped into the wrong boards after scoring a goal. Mahtomedi manages to stay out of the box when their last goal scorer goes out of his way to taunt the ref after this last goal. I guess I would have called an unsportsmanlike on that display. I am all for celebrating but that was over the top. That was obnoxious especially when the waived off goal earlier was indeed the correct call.

Call was incorrect

Maht player was in the crease before the puck. That was the correct call 15 years ago, did it change?

The call was goalie interference.
Maht argued he was pushed in by Warroad player.

It was clear he was charging net on his own power.
Opponent contact does not matter at that point.
Correct call.

I think ESPG is talking about Eveleth Trophy they give from the 1st State Title to teams now along with the Championship hardware

Got to give Mahtomedi credit. They lose talented to players to Hill Murray and still keep winning. That’s a credit to good coaching.

That's right. Then when they came out with remote control, we sent the old ones to International Falls or wherever Elliot hails from. Him and Fichuk would sit around with a couple of Cold Spring beers and watch the I-Falls repeat championship games from the 60s.
