They did play a few games at Aldrich (I saw the Tonka game there). They mostly played at Polar as the arena needed a main host and the girls could have something more their own. Although I was told it had to do more with trouble at Aldrich and ice time.

Aldrich is definitely a favorite arena of mine as I saw so many fun games there over the years. Polar, not so much...

And Chloe Boreen sure is a good player. I was surprised the U wasn't more interested as her sister played there. I just hope the young guns on Hill learned a lot from the senior. How to be strong on your skates really shines through.

They all were, if you wanted to pay.

6 of the top 11 teams in the last AA poll failed to make state. Pretty crazy.

Ok, I see, thanks for clarifying. However, how in the world did mnhockeytv not have Maple Grove in their top 11?

Also pretty wild that two section finals had the eventual losing team up 3-0/3-1, only to blow those leads (Roseau vs Moorhead and Maple Grove vs Centennial/SLP). Lakeville South almost pulled off the same feat. In the Maple Grove game last night, penalties took their toll on Centennial/SLP (lots of kill time on the ice).

You definitely could have made a great consolation tournament this year with those teams that didn't make it.

Lakeville South
Holy Family
Lakeville North
Stillwater
Centennial/SLP
BSM
Moorhead'
and maybe EP

I completely agree with you on that point! That’s a lot of strong teams. The strength is more even across the field than with the real tournament, which as someone pointed out in the state tournament thread as being “tiered”. But that’s no different than any other year.
