I'll cut Tiffee some slack. Throughout the minors and everyother time he has played at the majors it has been predominantly at 3B. But yes, their fielding has been kinda weak as of late. If that is because of the injuries or what, I don't know. But yes, we will see Jacque Jones at 1B. Gardy said not against Estes (he's a lefty), but probably the next game because he can't DH Lew going against an NL team and he wants both Jacque & Lew in the game. I'd have to agree with him, they have been some of hte most consistent bats on the team and with Morneau out for a little while longer at least, Jones can't be that much worse than Tiffee at 1B. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)"> Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

It is a nice park. But I dont like looking at the people sitting behind home plate from the CF camera. Although the blonde was OK. Nice win. You give up 8 but score 9. Thats a bonus for the win column. Lets stay hot.

How cool would it be if neither the Red Sox, Yankees, or Cubs didn't make the playoffs? Then the media can take an unbiased look at every team and not be obsessed with these three. Right koren808, they'd be talking about the poor ratings baseball playoffs were getting because none of the 'marquee' teams were in. I'm with you on the Red Sox making it and Yankees not, but the White Sox have a very good chance right now. They have the best record in baseball and while they have to cool down at some point, if they play .500 ball the rest of the season, they'll still win 90+ games. With all the injuries, the Twins really haven't been firing on all cylinders yet so I see the Twins catching the Chisox at some point in the season but it could end up going nip and tuck till the end with both teams making the playoffs.

I think that the White Sox are a good team, but I see the Red Sox surging to get the wild card in September, and the O's winning the division. Anyone else see that the Twins have the best batting average with runners in scoring percentage? If they keep that up, how can anyone bet against them especially with the starting pitching they have? Also, if the Yankees don't win 11 of the final 17 games in June, Cashman had better start trading away guys for prospects and see how much of that inflated payroll he can get rid of. If they don't start their playoff push now, they are seriously done. They can't count on their senior citizens to help them make up 5 games in September, it just isn't going to happen. I hope they make it to the playoffs this year, but I hope even more that when they are out of it, they accept it and start planning for the future. Cashman, maybe, but there is a reason why the Yankees were the best team in baseball in the late 90's-early 00's. Just give Torre a team, and not an all-star roster, players like what Paul O'Neill used to be. I meant O'Neill, but Torre is too. What the Yankees need are some prospects for the future. They got 2 prospects off the top of my head, Cano and Wang, both who are in the bigs because of injuries and now in the starting lineup or rotation. In 3 years, half the guys on the team will retire. They'll be left with A-Rod, Jeter, and Cano as hitters, and everyone else could be new. They have said that he will be traded because of ARod. Beyond him, Cano & Wang they have next to nothing because of all they have given up in trades. That's why I think that once they are out of it, they should become major sellers at the trade deadline and try to get as many young guys as they can. Also sign younger free agents. The Yankees in 2 years are screwed the way they are going right now. I have the odd feeling that Cano is gonna just explode either at the end of this year or next year, and be the third best hitter in the lineup. I don't know why, but my prediction is that Robinson Cano will make the All-Star team, and do it with his stats, and not his pinstripes. And what happened with this thread? I think he'll be a good average hitter, 17 HR power and drive in runs. Also play the stellar D. No more Peavy v. Santana. Peavy's start got moved back to Monday due to an injury to Adam Eaton. It's too bad that would have been a great matchup.
