Lets do a brief reset.

Just a reminder of the contestents and their winning numbers.
OGEE 97

IS 96 (and a new thread)

Neut 95

ER 94

Govs 93

PB 92

sinbin 91

tomASS 90

boblee 89

UNS 88

But remember, this is the number of wins that the division winner will have.

The Sox are on pace to win 91.

The Factor has screwed up once again in calling things a bit early on the quest for a free cold one at The Liffey. I have sinned against you.

The Sox have 14 games left and 83 wins.

No one has been eliminated. OGEE, hang in there.

The Sox now go on a 10 game road trip as the Twins try to hang close and finish up with 7 more remainig on The Final Factor.

Nothng like your team being in a close pennnat race is there. The only thing better is the world series.

The Vikings? I mean, yah gotta be kiddin me.

I suppose no one is eliminated until someone gets to 88 wins.

Sox-84 wins 11 games left.

Twins-82 wins 10 games left.

Twins need to win 2 against the Rays to set up
The Final Factor, my prediction is it will take 163 games to get it determined.

The good news is the Sox play the Indians at the end.

Gardy needs to get ejected from a game, that always fires up the boys.

packer boy will have to make a ruling if it goes 163 games - I was basing my WAG on a 162 game season

No rulings are required. The number is what is is, playoff or not.

High 80s are lookin good but who knows.

The Final Factor is in full force.

They play like crap on the road.

A Talking Point; They play 162. If we ever forgot why, the Twins are reminding us.

They just arent that good and over 162, it eventually shows.

No Spin , just fair and balanced reporting.

Sox have 84 with 10 left.

Twins have 83 with 9 left.

88, 89, and 90 look like good numbers.

The Twins need to win 2 more in TB.

The Sox will win 2 at least in KC.

Hopefully, last night will be the start of something.

The Final Factor must be held back so they come home with a chance.

A few things here...

#1 - Don't ever say "PB was right", because things tend to turn ugly in here when that happens.

#2 - He's got 92, so even for the most "curmudgeonly" (is that a word?) bored member, he ended up being wildly optimisitic.

#3 - It wasn't strictly the Republicans that doomed the Twins (although it definitely didn't help), but MLB throwing them back out on the road for a week and a half after that. If you want to be successful in the league, you have to win on the road at some point, so the scheduling isn't an excuse - every team gets 81 on the road - but it certainly set up a tough stretch of games so late in the season.

Also, my best guess at this point is the winning number will be 89, and since that's the "retired" boblee's number, can we all just agree to call me the winner on this? Thanks.

#1. Is that a threat  ,Its OK to tell someone they are right.

#2. "Curmudgeonly" often used word by G. W.

#3. I know each team plays 81 on the road  , I'm not that dumb.

Hey on the bright side the Twins still have a shot at the playoffs.
Not many thought they would be in this position. But your right Govs, 89 looks good............Bobby would comeback faster than Brett if he won.

I tried to talk em into giving you 89 Ogee but that tight wad lawyer wouldn't budge, in fact he can squeeze a nickel tight enough to make the Buffalo s-it

Probably Elliott's nickel if there's a buffalo on it.

The most the Sox can win is 92(my number) because if they have 92 they won't play the final makeup game.

The Twins can only win 90.

The Factor did in the Twins with a combined 9-15 on the last 2 road trips.(how good would even 11-13 have been?)

But any team that plays that poorly on the road shouldnt be a division winner anyways.

Twins need to sweep and get help form CLE.

The Factor.Fair , balanced, and spot on accurate.

The most the Sox can win now is 91.

I am out of it. Its gut wrenching but this too shall pass.

I was looking forward to buying myself a cold one at the Liffey.

Come to think of it, I always do that anyway. You need time lapse
photography to detect any motion toward the wallet from elliott.

Big win for the Twins last night.

I am nervous about Blackburn tonight. Short leash Gardy, please.

The Twins could win 90 or the Sox 91.

If the Twins win out and the Sox sweep CLE and beat DET in the makeup, they both end up with 90 and then the number will be 91.

If the Sox win tonight and sweep CLE, they will clinch with 90 and not play the makeup.

The high 80's is lookin good.

Twins 7 Sox 5

Should be a wild night - fitting end to this season. We may see every pitcher on both rosters pitch tonite before its done.

Hope so... the Twins' bullpen is only good for an out or two before running into trouble, so it's probably best to keep the revolving door on the mound in motion.

Also, MornEAU-for-4 needs to get it figured out... now. Ozzie won't let him get much to hit, but the few he may get, he has to cash in on.
