best juniors

Post by State of Hockey80 »

I would have to say that the 2 best junior goaltenders in the state are Faust and Goldsmith. Faust is pretty much a given and gets the job done night in and night out. Goldsmith doesn't get much help and gets peppered every game, but still does a spectacular job. He would get way more recognition if he was on a better team.

Derek Holmberg from North is an extremely strong skater and strong with the puck, He also knows how to play the body.

Brian A. from Hill has an amazing pull move, its almost the same thing everytime but it works almost everytime, hes fast and knows how to play the game.

That would be a great pick except that Taylor Mattson is only a Sophmore.

Andy Sackrison so underrated for St Louis Park just because the team wasnt that good doesnt mean he shouldnt get attention he did pretty much make the Tri City storm team but he wants to play high school hockey and goalie Josh Swartout

Fischer

Post by SwitchCard »

David Fischer from AV, mentioned before, needs to be mentioned again. Great player, could be a little more physical, but stick handling, and instincts are unsurpassed. He can out manuever some good forwards, which is impressive considering he is a defender.

I agree about brian. if he were on the ice last year during the section final, he would have scored on stutz to bring the game into overtime, something cascalenda couldn't do (cascalenda is a smart hockey player but arrigoni would have maneuvered the puck around stutz)

brian would make a great captain next year

Kevin Jones and Matt Letourneau are some of the best in the state. Ritts is also not bad at all!

I would have to agree with Medvec and Fischer from AV! They both are great defense men and from watching them this year and in elite league i have been nothing but impressed. Fischer has great hands and can rush the puck with the best of them, and maybe even better, also he has great vision of the ice and just a fun player to watch!! Medvec is huge, has great hands, rushes the puck, plays very physical and has an unbelievable shot! It should be fun to watch these two players and see where the end up after next year!

best JR in the state.....

Post by derwood8 »

with out a doubt it is andrew malzahn of elk river... he may not have the points of some others but he comes through in the clutch and makes the big plays when the team really needs it. Malzahn currently has 40 points, 12goals and 28 assists, that means that he isnt afraid to give up the puck to benifit the team, that is why elk river is in the tourny because they figured out how to play as a team and dish the puck out to win games, and some damn good coaching.

HEY MAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN

Best Juinor that no one has heard of..........Austin's Tim Kirby. He is an amazing all around player but since he plays in the southern part of the state he goes unnoticed. He has played on select and AAA teams with players such as Peter Mueller, and has played over him a few times on these teams. Put this kid on a cities team and he makes this list more than once.
