Re: keaton vs austin
alright the first game against av... FIRST OF THE SEASON... so lets just overlok that and look to the 2nd time... 3-2... oh and btw... aha beat ep easily 6-2, ep wasnt all that strong this year, they made jefferson look VERY good

Re: 6AA in 2005-06
Bantam or Peewee, is it that big of difference? The poimt I was trying to make is exactly what you said, Bookhout. Schofield will be a good player next year, as well as Nick Olson. They got some good talent on JV, and hopefully they will add to another good year by the Jags.

Re: keaton vs austin
Which is why I said they obviously weren't gonna beat AV that big again if they played. And yes, EP wasn't the strongest this year, but if Jefferson and AHA would have played the same way they played in the section finals, Jeffrerson would have gotten the W. Plain and simple. But AHA won the game that counts.

Re: keaton vs austin
True, it was the first game of the season and was not nearly a testament to Apple Valley's team. They were a solid squad. Holy Angels only tough section game was the championship. Not taking anything away from AHA, they won state and proved they were the best, just saying they had an easier road to state.

As for EP making Jefferson look very good, Jefferson was a very good team this year. They made it to state, and then got beat by AHA. EP was talented but never seemed to put it together. They should field a good team again next year.

Re: 6AA in 2005-06
No, the difference is not that great but only if there is enough of that talent still poised to come in, which there is, I was just pointing out the details, that's all. I was a bit disappointed watching Nick Olson this year, he has much more speed that he was showing. It could've been a JV thing, but I did think his stride and edgework was way off from the recent past. I'm sure he'll fix that. I'm very excited about how Schofield will contribute next year. Another kid to watch, I think, is Lars Held - I see him making huge advances going into next year, he's a kid with much unused talent and a heart and passion that will overcome most obstacles.

Gotpuck (but get real) - You obviously don't understand the Lake if you place so many chips on the 2nd AV game. Jefferson would have smoked AV in the section final just like they did EP, they were virtually untouchable that night. End of story.

Re: keaton vs austin
AV didn't make BJ look good - they ARE good - we all know that. 2nd period against AHA (not up to par) - a few "not good" penalties in ER game. Most every team experienced that.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

I think they'll be a definant contender 05-06.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... cuda701 at: 3/9/05 10:51 pm

Contender 05-06
Really, you think?
I had heard they need to rebuild, losing Overman, Wild, Ruff, Connelly, etc. has to put some kind of set back on them?
Who do they have that are marquee players next year? Levine?

Re: Contender 05-06
They do need to rebuild a bit, but they should still put out a good team. Key players will be Levine, LaBombard, Hovey, Dieter, and Lee. If the rumor of Jaskowiak returning is true, that would be a huge boost. Although I have a feeling it is just that, a rumor. Like Bookhout said, probably a slow start, picking it up by conference time. Very good shot at state.

Re: Contender 05-06
The Baby Blue will certainly be competitive next year. However, in recent times, this was their best team. It is not going to be any easier for them in the future, losing Connelly, Overman, and Wild.

Re: 6AA in 2005-06
bookout. good predictions...may hold up next year. jefferson has a solid jv corps stepping up to fill the holes. don't forget addeyman. talented kid. roberts on defense should be an impact player. gordy has teached his kid a thing or two through the years. will jefferson look as good against ep at mariucci in championship game next year? i think so.
edina is problematic. coaching is set again...giles is the man, not chapman.
ep lost 12 seniors. 5 on defense, 6 if you count the bickle line shuffle in the last month of play. the fowards appear to be solid and deep. i suspect the coaches will center the offense around vranek (1st line). defense is problematic, with only one seasoned junior returning. coaches will no doubt move 1 or 2 forwards back to play defense.

The top 2 teams of this year, Jefferson and EP, are going to be a little bit down. Edina will probably maintain what they did this year. Wayzata leaving takes one of the Big 4 out of the section. In my opinion it is wide open, with the sleeper being Minnetonka.

Re: 6AA in 2005-06
Everybody knows that anything can happen any year in 6AA playoffs. Jefferson, EP, Edina & Tonka all have solid youth programs that continue to feed the high schools, so they will always be at least solid. Jefferson & Edina have HS traditions that tend to propel rebuilding years forward. Lindquist seems to be strong in building a team concept and forging chemistry, so as long as the foundation is there he can do a lot with it.

I'm not sure about Tonka, they seemed so far off from the 02-03 and 03-04 teams this year and I don't see that changing. They'll always represent an upset potential, but who doesn't in 6AA once you get into the semis? The goalie situation at EP will be crucial next year, that is the big advantage Jefferson will have next year over EP.

Edina will need to find new scoring and diversity with Collins gone.

Re: 6AA in 2005-06
hey bookout i was unaware that the trojans are leaving 6aa...to where? good move. 6aa was already too top-heavy. with respect to tonka, what happened to hanus? he had good credibility, but, not enough political acumen with the parents. and did bickel (his parents) bail when hanus got the boot? and speaking of bickel, who, i believe is playing at green bay, why was he moved for forward to defense at ep? he was completely caught off-guard at mariucci against bj. overshadowed by brian connelly...big-time.

i see jefferson taking this district again in 05/06. lindquist is smart and has a great jv corp. to work with coming up.

Re: 6AA in 2005-06
Wayzata moved to 4AA to essentially take the place of Elk River's move to 7AA.

Re: keaton vs austin
saying they would have smoked av as they did ep in the section final is stupid... ep wasnt all that strong this year... and they played HORRIBLY.. but all i have to say on the matter is... 6th place.. aha's first.. end of story i guess

Re: keaton vs austin
GOT PUCK... this is a thread about JEFFERSON! no need to bring AHA into the deal... we've already established that they were #1 and well deserving that title, but you dont need to bash Jefferson when they are a solid team. Not everyone can compare to your team.

Re: keaton vs austin
Let him talk up AHA. He seems to think that he needs another place to talk about his team, even if there are about ten other threads on AHA right now.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Re: keaton vs austin
if you read the whole thread, you would have noticed that sum1 commented on a previous post of mine saying that AV would have got crushed by jefferson in the section final the same way EP was... and my point was that it was meaningless.. and that our close game against av doesnt matter... cuz we won it all

Re: keaton vs austin
No. You brought AHA into this by saying Keaton was better than Austin. We were already debating AHA and Jefferson when we talked about AV. So you, sir, brought it up.

Re: keaton vs austin
I dont mind debating AHA and Jefferson, it was hattrick that was angry about it. And while we are at it, here's a stat for you: 5 vs. 2.

Re: keaton vs austin
