There is a reason why JV teams don't have a state tournament or play offs. It is because usually 3 - 6 players are also varsity players. Some HS coaches go for the wins over developing plavers and some coaches do the opposite. It is so impossible to rank these teams. What about strength of schedule? Do they play off after the HS State tournament or before? You could stack up your team with 3rd line varsity players or better and walk through the playoffs. How would you regulate it. Also many teams don't even differentiate between Varsity and JV on their rosters.

STA first of all is pretty much an all star program, you pay to play hockey not to go to school there.

Ep has one of the if not the best jv team. The coach is young but he knows what he is doing. They are a big school so they also get that depth.

yeah every one st. thomas has the best jv team in the state the dominated ever team they played and their record was 24-1 they got players like kurt altrichter who got moved up to varsity for playoffs and tate as a freshmen goaltender and they got christian izackson who got moved up also and on 2nd line another freshmen and noah gaven freshmen most points on jv and they got justin crandle best playmaker alive and their jv team tied their varsity team in an organized scrimmage 2-2 so they are gunna be stacked for a while

a very good example...chisago lakes had a very good JV season. but, varsity is what matters and look at that season. six wins, your not going anywhere with six wins

Suburban East Conference started a Traveling JV Champions Trophy this past year. First team on the Trophy...............Stillwater Ponies. Any other conferences have a trophy for the JV teams? And if you say the standard "So What, its only JV" comments then why is it so important for kids to skip the second yr of bantams as a sophmore or freshmen?
