They have a good player, their goalie. Who, IMO, would probably be the one player you'd want to be good if you could choose. Not saying they'll take it, but it would be interesting if they did.

It was Apple Valley. Oh the pain...

Yes, I mistyped, I'm sorry.

Wow, I never actually expected Central to win (just had my fingers crossed) but I expected them to do better than that.

Wow, Marshall out scored Central's shooting?!...that's bad.

So, goalie not good, or just zero defense or what?

No goalie, zero defense, zero offense...nothing was right for Central or everything was right for Marshall...Central should've stayed off the ice tonight...absolutely terrible!

Im curious how Central's goalie would do if he had better players in front of him. I have heard good stuff about him, but he just looks bad becuas the team has no offense or defense.

i think 3 of the goals were on there back up goalie during the 3rd too, so it wasnt all him.

Makes one wonder if these conference games are necessary. Would the four people who voted for DC please stand up? Although, I give them credit for the team support.

I think I did just because I started the thread.

Saying they aren't necessary gives Holy Angels 7 more games a year. They have to be played.

It really wasn't that long ago that Duluth Marshall was getting blown out by double-digits on a regular basis. Let's not forget the past, or we could be doomed to repeat it. It's pretty obvious that Duluth Marshall is the much better team at this point in time though.

So why doesn't Lake of the Woods play everyone in their conference?

I can't speak to that, honestly. I am under the impression you are suppose to play everyone in your conference. Or at least in having a shot for the title, you do probably. That is probably why Holy Angels plays everyone, because they wouldn't want to get 2nd or 3rd in a weak conference just because they choose not to play everyone and didn't get enough points.

It is a weak conference. LOW won't schedule Bagley due to the belief, probably on both sides and legitimately, that the game would be a blow out. So they just don't schedule them. The other teams in that conference are Red Lake Falls, and Kittson Central.

On a side note, RLF, Park Rapids, and Kittson Central are the only section 8A teams that will schedule Bagley.

Sure Marshall is 5-1-1. But look who they have played, and look who Hermantown and SCC have played....Thats how Marshall is # 2 in class A
im pretty sure that marshall has three of the same apponents as hermantown... and then they have pretty decent teams for the rest of there wins. and now you can add vriginia who is also ranked as another victory.

They have only played two of the same teams so far, SR and Proctor.

Marshall's lines

1st Line: One of the top in the state
2nd Line: Better than most teams first lines
3rd Line: may not be a scoring line, but they have yet to let in a goal, so pretty solid defense
