Watch out boblee, GR19 may get on you for that. Because while Brainerd has an enthusiastic fan section, i guess we were the only one's who he heard saying vulger things toward his beloved Grand Rapids Thunderhawks.

The three top schools for student sections for high school hockey have to be the Elks, Jerrerson, and White Bear Lake. But yet again those are hockey rich tradition schools. These are also the teams in which bring large crowds to home and away games and are true fans, not the teams who little PLEASE BAN ME jump on the bandwagon during section time. Best chant was ER/Osseo section game last year.. Elk River fans took it hands down.. what can you say to back-to-back chants of "Get off well-fare' followed by a long chant of 'white trash'

the student sections are what makes high school hockey such a fun atmosphere.

GO ELKS

ER has deffinetly become a lot rowdier this year and has the size it's needed the last few years. I feel good things from the crowd when the Elks go to sections this year at the DECK.

Procter Arena and Fans are Cold

Post by derek6655 »

A little known annoyance around the state is the fans in Procter.
Procter is a big phsycological game. The arena is the coldest ever, the visitors lockeroom is sweltering hot, and the fans single out players and mock them they really get in your head. Add northern loving refs and if you are a southern school your screwed

ER Is Baaaaack

Post by EREmpireStrikesBack »

Good to hear the Elks are getting a little rowdy and getting the numbers again this year. No offense, but the last few years hasn't been the best, but still a helluva lot better than most schools. ER definitely has a rep to live up to.

Zamman- Don't worry about EZ, he's a moron if you haven't noticed by now. er fans are hands down the craziest. i heard the administration put a cage up to keep them off the glass and they broke it on the first game of the season. ER fans take hockey games personal, and thats what i love about them

In defense of AHA at last years championship, let's not forget that Moorhead is how many times bigger than AHA in numbers, and the town comes down to St. Paul, which is nice. You can't compare it to the size of the AHA student section's size.

White Bear Lake and Roseville in '03 at Roseville most classless cheers on both sides, could not help but to laugh at all of them.

Jesus Loves Us is a classic

Duluth East

Post by MNpuck10 »

Whats up with this fan section. Duluth East has always had great student sections and i was recently at the rival game against C E C and no dress up and not much attendence. The highlight seemed to be when a fan threw a golf ball at Cloquet's section during chuck-a-puck

That Golf ball was thrown at us, and we got the beef for it. This years seniors at East dont have alot of spirit(sadly), but rest assured come cloquet(if they can make it there) at the DECC for that Section Final game you'll hear the roar of East.

I am glad this topic came back up front. Last night I thought the Osseo fans were great. There were a lot of students who traveled a long ways to this game. They were vocal and for the most part "clean". They loved the AHA cheerleaders and the organist. The one downfall was chanting over-rated at the beginning of the game. You chant that when there is reason to chant that.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Moohead

Post by Mnhockeygod »

Moorhead has traditionally had good student sections. They are always packed along with the rest of the sports center. To get a spot in the main student section for an average game you have to get there by the end of the first period of the JV game. For the big games it isn't unusual for the student section to start to fill before the teams have even arrived. They are loud and love to get into it. The students come to watch the game, and they stand the whole game. A bar was put up to keep the kids of the glass but it doesn't look to be working. The only disadvantage they have is they can't get into chant wars because the other teams aren't well represented. Moorhead it at least a couple hours from all its major rivals. As for the state tourny, the school all but shuts down. Its a four hour drive that just about every Moorhead student has made since the early 90's.

I would have to say that Moorhead does have a great student section. They really know the game of hockey and enjoy it. No wonder they haven't lost at him since 2001 those kids in the student section get into the other teams head and it messes them up. When Moorheads down those kids bring the team back up to win everytime. If you've never been to a Moorhead game at the Sports Center I recamend it,it's fun to see those kids have so much fun at those games!

I love the sports center... its a great place... go in that place in the summer and you see Matt Cullen and his brothers skating around... the tradition at Moorhead is great... the best is when Fargo South thinks they can come in and hang with the spuds and then they get 8 or 9 hung on them... its pretty good stuff... its like a varsity team playing a JV squad...

Er/Edina

Post by WatchOutFor44SteveMoore »

Big-ups to ER's student section for showing up with only 1/2 the size of Edina's and still outdoing them. I'll give Edina's "mooner" some props for being brave enough to show his rear to hundreds of people even though it was quickly turned around on him with the Elk's "He's the catcher" chant.

ps. i saw some police talking after that. anybody know if anything happened?
