forgive some virginia fans clarkgriswold, we are very excited to have finally made it to the big show, and some people take it to extremes when they want their team to win. and its not just disrespect to STA, spinner's been doin to all the teams throughout playoffs. he's just an overexuberant virginia high school hockey fan. we all know STA is a very worthy opponent and should make for a close game. so its no disrespect to your team, just a wierd way of spinner to show his support for virginia. best of luck to both teams. ill see ya all wednesday at noon.

GO DEVILS!!

Stats? You want stats, ya say? Here ya go. Looks like Virginia played a slightly tougher schedule to me, and they were much more successful in the process.
RecordSt. Thomas Academy: 18 - 10 - 0Virginia/MI-B: 20 - 4 - 3Average Goals Per GameSt. Thomas Academy: 4.46Virginia/MI-B: 5.78Aveage Goals Allowed Per GameSt. Thomas Academy: 2.57Virginia/MI-B: 2.44Average Record of Opposing TeamsSt. Thomas Academy: 12 - 13 - 2Virginia/MI-B: 13 - 12 - 1Average Section Seed of Opposing TeamsSt. Thomas Academy: 4.8Virginia/MI-B: 4.8Record vs. Class A OpponentsSt. Thomas Academy: 10 - 4 - 0Virginia/MI-B: 17 - 0 - 2Record vs. Top 20 ranked teams (A & AA)St. Thomas Academy: 2 - 7 - 0Virginia/MI-B: 6 - 0 - 1Record in games vs. teams with winning recordsSt. Thomas Academy: 4 - 8 - 0Virginia/MI-B: 12 - 3 - 2Top 5 scorers on each team St. Thomas G-A-Pts | Virginia/MI-B G-A-PtsF-Schroeder(8th) 18-20-38 | D-Niskanen(Sr) 25-36-61D-Donovan(Sr) 14-20-34 | F-Sacchetti(Fr) 28-24-52F-Baer(Jr) 17-12-29 | F-Ceglar(Sr) 15-28-43F-Kvarnlov(Sr) 9-16-25 | F-Altobelli(Sr) 13-21-34F-Borg(Sr) 10-13-23 | F-McGillivray(So) 19- 8-27

There's more stats than you could ever want on both of these teams on my website, including a short little stint about each team here.
St. Thomas Academy
Virginia/MI-B

Edit: Links changed to reflect new website address www.section7hockey.com instead of the geocities site.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... kRanger at: 3/2/05 12:08 am

Danke Shane Puck and HP!

Now the I feel the love! Hey, I am impressed by the Blue Devils fan support. Very cool with the first time appearance from such a classic hockey town. Had a great time last year in Virginia with the State Tourney held in your town. Great arena and knowledgeable fans. Lets hope that both teams play there best game... Coach Gris,
I like your Post. The Blue Devil Fans are so hung up on themselves they don't understand anything else. I do not know much about STA but hope it will be a Great State Tourney Game.

I wont make any predictions, but not only are the fans hungry, the players are hungry. And i think they will play like that have something to prove. Look for the stars to shine, and their depth to take over.

Good Luck Devils!!
Three More Wins.....

I suggest no more predictions from either team. If you want to pick the tourney, then do it on that one thread. Somebody's going to lose, and then it'll just be insult to injury after all this ranting back and forth.

Go Blue Devils and Bulldogs!

if you have read any of the posts regarding the hibbing/virginia game, cameron, you have seen how respectful all the fans were after the game and the lack of "insult to injury." we are all mature, well most of us<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"> , and we know how to acknowledge better opponents when they win, and accept victory with grace. for those of you who cannot over come your pride and selfishness, please refrain from any rude/classless posts after the game, regardless of who wins. best of luck to both teams.

GO DEVILS!!

Good Game

Post by Kodiak »

This will be a good game played by two EVENLY MATCHED teams! Yeah, I said it. I've seen both teams play, and neither one is obviously better or worse than the other. Both teams are good, both will come to play, and we will all be treated with some great wednesday entertainment! Watch and enjoy this game! It will be fun!

If either one of these two teams hopes to have a chance in the next round this will need to be a one sided game. The winner will need to be able to rest their "depth" a bit to be able to stay with Warroad. That being said I am going with VMIB 6-3. Followed by a 5-2 loss to Warroad. Duluth Marshall is going to win this thing. VMIB will take home 3rd place.

Can i make one point that STA has played against some of the best competition this year compared to virginia. THey play mostly AA teams and will have a higher intensity for that reason. CAM VOSS needs to play awesome and her will. TROY DAVENPORT THEORY ANYONE.

i've seen sta on tape and our coaches went down and watched them. they compared their team to a Silver Bay team caliber. I will just sit back with a cup of coffee and watch the game down there.

u virginia kids are amazing. just cause this is your first time in the state tourney doesnt mean there is nobody there for competition to stop you. u would think that virginia played someone decent this year by the way you talk. Hibbing is the best team u played all year! Sta has played teams like Hill Murray (2 X), Tartan (2X), Cretin and Minnetonka. All of those teams would beat Hibbing! Sta also played all of these teams close.... Lost to Hill both times by a goal and 2 goals, lost to Tartan by a goal i believe and beat them in an o.t. thriller, beat cretin and beat minnetonka. and to even compare sta to silver bay is a joke, silver bay could not stick with them at all. all im saying is just relax before claiming the state crown here....

I was thinking the same thing oldtyme......too much optimism before the games have even started. I like Virginia's chances, but I'm sure that STA has no plans to roll over. I was looking at their schedule as well, and they've played a solid metro schedule, including AA representative Tartan. There's still a lot of work to be done. Virginia'a certainly a good story, but STA probably doesn't find it all that interesting<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Take er' one game at a time, boys.

Olde tyme, I've read a few of your posts lately. Why so negative? Give these kids a break. It's their first trip to the state tournament. Let fans say what they want, they deserve it.

Good luck Virginia on your first trip to state!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ...
