Fischer

Post by hockey1964 »

Thanks Hot Ice.

Kdavis - you seem to have your facts wrong.

At least I also spelled his name right.

USHR Quote

"In March, Fischer was invited to join the NTDP as a forward on this year’s Under-18 Team, but declined the invitation, preferring to stay at Apple Valley and remain a d-man. The NTDP, which has a full complement of ’88 d-men, felt that Fischer’s size and skating ability would have made him a good candidate for conversion to forward, which he actually started out as in youth hockey."

Who is he and why would he transfer from Centennial to WBL ? Are you saying he is a Mr. Hockey Candidate ?

When your team has ten put up against them and your playing in that game regularly your chances for even a Mr. Hockey candidacy probably is gone. ie: Mike Forney. Should take some of the pressure off of him. It's sometimes unfortunate that hockey's a team sport. It will go to someone from the Metro area going to the Gophers. Last year was an anomaly.

I am sorry but who is Brett Peterson? I am sure he is a very good player; I just have not heard anything about him. Forward, Defenseman, what school does he play for. Any awards all state, all metro, been to the state tournament, committed to a D1 college etc. Thank you, we will keep an eye on him. The committee

brett peterson info.

Post by ERdynasty »

brett peterson, senior forward (LW), #18 Elk River Elks. 6'2 200lbs. Extremely strong on his feet, soft hands. Has played varsity for three years now, and has already appeared in 2 state tournaments. 33 goals, 18 assists as a junior. Had offseason heart treatment for a rare condition, now skating at full strength. Played elite all summer, even stood out there. I watched the hastings-elk river scrimmage and it was intense, while brett peterson most definetely made Jared Stewart look like he should still be playing squirts. If anyone has seen him play they know what i'm talking about, 2 or 3 guys bounce off him and he just carries the puck around everyone, can take it coast-to-coast, and can dig in the corners, alot like Eric Lindros years before all the concussions. Good vision and play-making ability. The Gophers as well as Colorado College are making strong pursuits toward at least getting a verbal commitment. Has 4 goals, 3 assists thru 4 games this season. Still puts up big numbers while playin in the best conference in the state, NWSC. He'll most likely be drafted this year in the NHL draft, is already included in the NHL posted listings. This kid will cease to amaze this year, the elks student section already chants 'mr. hockey' after every one of his goals. One kid even has a #18 elks jersey with Mr. Hockey on the back.. wouldn't doubt it if they were right.

_MW_

Brett Peterson

Post by ONMHockey »

I think Brett would make a great Mr. Hockey award recepient. I think I have watched all the potential top candidates for the award and he is certainly worthy. He reminds me of Grun, similar power skating style (if you will), not overly fast, nice shot, smart player.

If I were to bet, I'd say Jay Barriball but Peterson has a very good chance. We all like marque players and Jay certainly has the edge over Brett with his State tourney appearances, enhanced public exposure from tv chatter, forum chatter, Gophers, AHA's string of successful years, etc and these items plus Jay's gifted play need to be rewarded. The puck is rolling toward rewarding AHA and Jay this year. Fun to speculate however. Brett Peterson is another Bernie McBain protege.

NHL Scouts weigh in on Mr Hockey

Post by hockey1964 »

Here is what the scouts think according to Charlie Walters.

"Nearly three dozen NHL scouts were at the Brainerd-Apollo game in St. Cloud the other day to watch 6-foot-4 senior defenseman Carl Sneep of Brainerd. Two dozen NHL scouts were at Blake for a game against Thief River Falls, which has 6-2 senior forward Michael Forney, who has committed to North Dakota.

And more than two dozen NHL scouts were at Chaska recently to see Warroad 6-2 junior center Aaron Marvin and Apple Valley 6-3 defenseman David Fischer, who has committed to the Gophers, and 6-5 defenseman Kyle Medvec.

Scouts figure Holy Angels' Jay Barriball, White Bear Lake's David Grun, Breck's Jordan Fulton and Fischer, Forney and Sneep will be finalists for this season's Mr. Hockey Minnesota."

if brett peterson is the kid who @#%$ his pants when stewart wanted to fight him in the scrimmage, after the kid cheap shotted him with a cross check u guys haave lost u'r mind about mr. hockey he should be estatic if he makes the 10 finalist list. he's good at best, and jerad stewart was better than him, thats why he has a schloarship and peterson doesn't.
