I agree with Kniven on this one - for a coach to use the words "banish" to a player sounds way out of character. If he said he was going to leave and the coach doesn't play him and opens up a spot for another player, that sounds like moving forward. However what do I know...everyone can act a bit irrational at times...kniven wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 11:32 amDuluth_Topper wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 11:06 am Yes this is confirmed. Banished? What the heck would a high school hockey coach be throwing out the “I banish you” words. That’s not the language of a high school hockey coach/leader/mentor for our kids is it? I can’t believe Coach would “banish players” high school kids....
I've only been around Randolph in arena lobbies and seen him in the state tournament, but I"m going to assume Randolph probably didn't say "JJ, I hereby banish you forever!"OldManRiver wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 12:31 pmI agree with Kniven on this one - for a coach to use the words "banish" to a player sounds way out of character. JJ isn’t the first player to leave DE early (for Juniors or NTDP) and he won’t be the last. Do know that regarding a DE player who left for USHl a bit more than a decade ago (who later played on the UMD NC team in 2011) by no coincidence...several years later his twin brothers played HS hockey for Duluth Marshall.InThePipes wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 12:34 pmI've only been around Randolph in arena lobbies and seen him in the state tournament, but I"m going to assume Randolph probably didn't say "JJ, I hereby banish you forever!"OldManRiver wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 12:31 pmI agree with Kniven on this one - for a coach to use the words "banish" to a player sounds way out of character. Alec Baer already forgotten.
OTC, was thinking the same thing. Low point in Pauley's career in my opinion. GBAlec Baer already forgotten
Randolph is trying to build his kids up for the next year. Why would he give up a spot to a kid who thinks he is better than the program to train, over a younger kid who needs the experience before the season starts. If a kid thinks that the program he should be at is not good enough for him, why should that program help him out?hockey59 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 1:25 pmJJ isn’t the first player to leave DE early (for Juniors or NTDP) and he won’t be the last. Kniven is probably right on this one. See Jake Hale from Minneapolis. Tough to predict how any one kid will adapt though.
Plus about 10 other teams you don’t have listed but I’ll save the typing........you’ve made the point.yesiplayedhockey wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:13 pm Muck..you sure about that?
Edina, Blaine, Tonka, Chaska, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove and probably even Andover all had top lines that would have been tough to crack
The kid is very good but that's a tough statement to support
He will be just fine (but he is not coming back). He's big, strong, hard worker and more importantly: has great character and is a nice and polite young man. Regardless of what happened to cause his departure, he will do not only do well...he'll do exceptionally well. The kid is a class act, as his family.
