2007-2008 WBL Bears

Post by SEC Scotty »

Any insight or information on the upcoming season. Will Taylor Johnson be back? Is Owen Collette healthy? Any Bantams making the jump to Varsity?

Jake Hansen is a big loss but I think they will still be good, they have a solid core of kids.

They will get swept by Hill just like the last 2 years.

Sounds to me like it'll be a lot like HM's tourney appearance then.

A little harsh, but I believe he earned it.

Well done Govs...

How can you even say that Govs?

17-18 first round losses?????????

I can't beleive you would even stick up for the Bears, all the Johnson kids that have left for them over the years.

I am fairly confident that the Bears will once again put a solid team on the ice. They have a tremendous youth program and their kids play a high level of competition each year and have enjoyed success. Their skill level varies from year to year but they always seem to have that tenatious work ethic. I expect that they will compete for the SEC title, will receive a high seed in the section, and will battle Hill to see who goes to state.

I'm not sticking up for the Bears... just taking a dig at the cocky HM guy. I'm not a fan of either team.

I thought Taylor was playing for Green Bay, but returning for the school year?

I dont think so, it sounded as if he was playing in Green Bay all year. He only has a few classes to finish before he graduates so he should be done with high school soon after he goes to Green Bay.

Here is a way out there prediction about da Bears:

They will lose to HM in the section final or they will make it to the state tournament and lose in the first round.

I like to go out on a limb.

P.S. I refuse to comment on the Bears because it can only come back to bite me later in the year. I'd rather play Edina or Roseau in the section final then WBL. I do think the Bears will have another very slow start to the year and be pretty dang solid come sections.

You must be referring to Edina or Roseau's Bantam team.

I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere, but USHR confirmed the rumor that Mounds View sophomore-to-be Ryan Wolter is transferring to White Bear this season.

Have not heard anything about any other new tranfers... but Collette will be back and the team will have enough talent to keep up with everyone in the conference. Ryan Wolter will be a great addition to the team.

Taylor Johnson is on the Green Bay Gambler's roster and will be wearing #4. Bears should still have a pretty good blueline corps with Galloway, Putney, Hauswirth, and Nadeau.

The difference is both WBL and Moundsview have youth programs that they put alot of time and money into. Private schools just leech off of these programs.
