Pre-Season Top 10

Post by boblee »

Here is where you may place your official preseason top 10 polls. You can argue someone's poll, but here is the only rule...

YOU MAY NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT SOMEONE'S TOP TEN UNTIL YOU POST YOUR OWN!!!!

OK A few have been posted lets get into it.
#1 Why does everyone think Roseau will be #1 They got lucky last year.
Quite a few top notch teams where knocked out early and the tourney was soft.
#2 Edina is not that deep and has Goaltender problems.
#3 Alot of people are looking at AHA as putting out a good product. I Also think they will.
#4 The Pioneers will be a top 5 team this year maybe even flirt with #1
#5 White Bear will still be Tough
#6 Centenial will be Very Tough

I am not up on the other teams to make any comments.

1. They did not get lucky last year, they were one of the best teams in the state all year. I believe their team GAA was under 2. They return Mike Lee and plenty of scoring. They also have the best player in the state, Aaron Ness. Also, they are defending champs. Simple nod to number 1.

2. They may not have a great goalie, but if they play solid defense, they won't need a great one, just a good one. All the "Super Sophs" will now be juniors, you gotta believe this team will be very, very good.

3. AHA will be good. Mattson will lead the way, and the goaltending is only going to be more experienced and more effective.

4. The Pioneers have the ability to be very good, but it isn't a promise. They need Phillippi to be sharper than ever and they need to get an extreme amount of production from young guys. Those young guys may have enought experience, however, to propel them to a top 3 team.

5. White Bear Lake will be tough, but they did lose their biggest scoring threat in Hansen. They also need a goalie to step up this season. They can ill-afford to play musical goalies like they did last season.

6. Yes, Centennial can be very good. I agree.
