Lookin for a list of BIG early season matchups, games that will show us what some of the top teams are made of in the early going.
Please do not debate whether or not they are "Big" games or whether the teams in these games are going to be one of the top teams. No tearing down someone elses opinion on big early season games. Just a list of big early season games. Thank You.

Re: Early Season Matchups
While it is in the lowly Class A a nice early season matchup is Nov 29 Mankato West @ New Prague. Two teams that should contend in 1A.wisconsinprephockey wrote:Lookin for a list of BIG early season matchups, games that will show us what some of the top teams are made of in the early going.

This will be very intriguing this year. The last couple seasons we knew what to expect a bit more from both squads with White, Stejskal, Johnson, Ellingson. With so many mainstays gone from the last 2-3 years who knows what to expect. Rapids should have solid defense, one line we know will be formidable. Goaltending has no varsity experience. CEC lost their top O guy and top D guy. Jokenin will be good, but who will help produce goals, and they never made it to state with Ellingson in goal, what will they do with a lower caliber goalie?GR3343 wrote:Grand Rapids vs Cloquet to start the season. Nov. 27 I believe at the IRA. Rematch of Section 7AA final.
