Willmar lost 12 seniors, but I see them being much better then last season.bombsquad06 wrote:I would say Willmar or New Ulm. I dont think either team lost much last year. I know NU lost only 4 players off of a section final team with a first year coach last year. I also hear that Willmar's JV was good?
hey stealth , would that Buffalo A bantam team be made up of most of the ones that tied the River lakes A Bantams last year , if so i think they got all they can handle at the bantam level, without entering the weakest section ever known to mankind. But its not the palyers fault this was made up this way, anyway its Hutch,New Ulm or Willmar, who ever has the hottest goalie thru the run will win it

flatontheice, Maybe you need to check out the sections before you say something is for sure. I bet there are at least 4 teams in Section 1A that would beat the section champ from 3A.flatontheice wrote:1A for sure
Either know what you are saying before you go on a post rampage posting as much as possible or at least do a little research!

To all of you from 1A who wanna jump on the 3A bashing band wagon, just remember 2 of the top teams from 1A last year are now in 3A this year. Which would tell me that if your team was a member of section 1A last year you don't have a lot of room to be running your mouth this year. I am happy for all of you arrogant people in 1A that you don't have to be everyones dog to kick this year and you can join in on the fun.

So 3A is obviously the weakest section in the state, we know that. It is also obvious that 1A is only better because of the teams that were brought in this year (i.e. Lourdes, Red Wing, New Prague). 1A also lost 2 good teams in NU and Marshall who I believe would put a good fight against any 1A team this year.

I don't think that NU or Marshall would be able to beat RW, NP, Faribault, or Lourdes this year?Bhindthemask wrote:So 3A is obviously the weakest section in the state, we know that. I do say that it will be a great experience for the kids from the 3A team to get to the X this year though. It will be a team that has never been to the State tourney or at least has not been in a very very long time. Should be a very competitive section tournament!

You are probably right scout. However I said it would be a close game, I never said 3A would win these games. But look who you listed from 1A, RW, Lourdes, New Prague, Fairibault. The best way to look at this scenerio is this. If your team was in 1A last year and you still are this year, you just lost any hope of going to the X. If you moved from 1A to 3A your chances of getting to the X just got a whole lot better. So, I guess if your more concerned with your pride, it's better to be in 1A, but if your looking to get to the X, give me 3A. Thats why they are called competetive section assignments.
I'm guessing this might be some pretty good locker room material for the boys from Albert Lea and West...two teams that stayed in 1A and will give those above mentioned teams a run for their money. What's the love for Faribault..not sure what everybody sees to like them so much. Granted, they have Smuda and Pavek back, but what else.Bhindthemask wrote:You are probably right scout. Bhtm tell me why you think Lourdes, NP and RW are the class of this SectionBhindthemask wrote:davey, i don't believe Fairibault is in this group, I just listed the teams the that scout had. However I just don't think AL or West has what it takes to get through these teams, but thats why the game is played on the ice and not on paper.
