And Fam'r gets out the defibulator. The Section 8 supremacist will get here in a few weeks, and life will be pumped into a section 8 thread. Just not this one. Full of emoticons, pictures and rhymes, it will be drug out for the entire season.

I heard that he had his paperwork in by the deadline, so this one was his free transfer as per the old rules. :)

I saw your number 4 team play today. There is NO WAY they finish above seventh. I watched at 30 minutes against Willmar and the Lightning didn't get 1 shot on goal and was scored on at least twice.

Saw the pre-season scrimmages in Brainerd this weekend and must say Tech looked very solid. They put 3 goals up against Brainerd to win 3-2 in a very physical game. Saw them play last year and must say they are a better looking team from what I've seen this weekend. Today they beat Prior Lake 7-0 and lost to Mahtomedi 3-1 in a very close game. I believe they can compete with just about anyone in the section minus the Roseau Rams.

Do you think Tech has what it takes to beat Moorhead this year? Personally, I havent seen (tech) them play yet, but hearing good things.

I do think they have what it takes to beat them. However, I think between Tech, Brainerd, Moorhead, and Buffalo we are going to have a hard fought battle for the second, third, and forth seeds in Section 8AA. This is going to be a very fun section to watch this year with all of the talent between the top five teams.

Hey Nipper, do a little research pal. . . Brainerd Dispatch athlete of the week was Brainerd Warrior wide receiver Bronson Shepherd for the week of November 5-11, after his performance in beating Wayzata in the state quarter finals. The same Bronson Shepherd that was second on hockey team in scoring last season. Meaning on Thursday the 15th, Shepherd and the Warrior football squad took on the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders. This scrimmage you speak of was on the 17th. . . Point being Shepherd and his 30+ points from last year was no where to be seen on the ice at the scrimmage.

I know Bronson Shepherd did not play for sure. Did Colby Ring play? He was the Running Back, so i would doubt he played.

Either way it doesn't matter. It was a Pre-season scrimmage, results dont mean anything.

I mean the New England Patriots were 2-2 This preseason... Look at them now. Any questions?

I would have to believe that this Warrior team will compete however, please don't try and create a parallel between them and the Patriots' pre-season situations and that which followed (not that it was your intention).

I agree, pre-season means nothing. Who looked good this past weekend?

It was definitely not my intention to make any comparisons. It was simply to state, that the pre-season doesn't mean anything.

I didn't see any of the scrimmages this past weekend. But i will be in attendance for Brainerd's scrimmages this weekend against Blaine, and Moorhead.

Although it will be a good chance to see two of the TOP THREE teams in 8AA at work. . . These pre-season scrimmages don't necessarily indicate a superior team. Last year in Brainerd, Blaine beat the Warriors 9-1. While at the Schwan's Cup Brainerd beat the Bengals 3-1

Is the Shawn Chambers who coaches Northern Lights the same Shawn Chambers who used to play for the North Stars?

I do not believe so, I could be wrong however.
