Wayzata Varsity assistant coach and former Fighting Souix, Martin Richard Schriner ("Marty"), died suddenly, on Saturday, October 27,2007 in a tragic boating accident in Western Minnesota.

He was a member of the national junior Olympic hockey teams (Select 16 Team, Select 17 Team, and the 1992 US National junior team). He became a member of the Fighting Sioux hockey team, playing for the University of North Dakota from 1990 - 1994.

Marty was a great person and will be sorely missed. I got to know him him while he was playing at North Dakota. My condolences go out to his family.
