Not true. He was a VERY good H.S. goalie. Just because he was a top H.S. goalie did not mean he would be a college star.
In my opinion Faust was a VERY tallented goalie...I beleive he deserved first team all state...it may not seem like he was that great of a goalie...but he had no help from his players those 2 years!!!
IMO Zach was a very good goalie, excellent quickness and pretty good rebound control. I think his penchant for "theatrics" left him out of position sometimes. He had a fine team around him too...
seriously, an average goalie would never start at White Bear Lake. Faust wasn't incredibely clutch at the State tournament his junior year, but he is a very good goalie.
zach faust was a great high school goalie throughout his career. he may have let in a couple goals from out by the redline every year, but he made up for it with some amazing saves.
From the Hamline website.....from friday's game vs css
Sophomore goalie Zach Faust (White Bear Lake, Minn.) had some tremendous saves in net while collecting 18 saves in the 65 minutes of play needed to leave the game in a tie.
Zach Faust is indeed playing well at Hamline. Check out the uscho college D-III men's stats - Zach is 10th in the nation in both save percentage and goals against.
