Spuds Vs Bears 12/01

Post by newSPUDfan » Mon Nov 26, 2007 9:29 pm

OK, I would like people's HONEST opinion on this matchup and the outlooks for both teams this year.

My $.02 about the taters.... they are very young and inexperienced, but they have some talent. Goalie battle should be interesting. Not many upperclassmen, who is going to be the leader??????

Goaltending is the question

It all comes down to the goal tending. This is a big question mark in Moorhead this year.

The outlook seems to be extremely positive in Moorhead this season. I think they will win this game to kick off a very good season.

The night before this game, Fargo South (ND) will be playing WBL. (WBL got beat by them last year) So you might want to factor in that too, as WBL will have just played a game.

HockeyHigh, where are you getting your information from? Is this a scrimage game? I don't see Fargo South on the WBL schedule. Where are they playing?

Here is the WBL schedule http://www.mshsl.org/mshsl/schoolactpag ... actnum=410

Good info on the Fargo South game. I forgot about that. Spuds got something like that too, where they play GR and then Duluth East the next night. The theory is to get them used to skating back to back so they are ready for the Schwann's Cup and the State tourney if they make it. Hasn't worked in the past. For either team!

SPUDS AND DA BEARS

Post by The Best 4th Liner » Wed Nov 28, 2007 2:14 pm

JUST A GREAT @@ BATTLE GOING DOWN IN THE TOWN OF WHITE BEARS. SPUDS ARE YOUNG, GOALTENDING COULD BE QUESTIONABLE. DA BEARS- OVERALL AVERAGE YEAR BY THEIR STANDARDS, GOOD BY ANY OTHER TEAMS STANDARDS. SPUDIES 5 DA BEARS 3 IN A GOOD PHYSICAL MATCHUP

That would be nice, but no. I believe they got the Goofers/Snow puppies game that night. Saw the schedule through december last night on TV, are they doing the Schwann's cup again this year?

Game on?

Post by CitiesSpudsGuy » Sat Dec 01, 2007 10:16 am

Does anybody know if this game has been cancelled/postponed due to the weather or is it still on?

Should still be on...

3 P.M. at Aldrich.

Snow is coming down fairly hard, so might be postponed/cancelled. We'll see.

Just called Aldrich, the game is on. I just might make the crazy drive through the snow to see the game.
