Orono

How is the new coach working out?

Is there excitement about this year's team?

Will the whacky parents of Orono allow the young coach to get his arms around the program without their interference? History says no..........wondering what others think.

Are they coupling Persian and Skoogs together? That would make sense.

Skoog, Persian and the Hansen brothers are very talented and will take this team quite far this year.

Decent defense and ok goaltending. Wilson already has a shutout.

Top line is;
Persian
Skoog
Barnum

Second line is;
Chris Hansen
other guy
other guy

Third line is;
other guy
other guy
and
yet another guy

Great first line, right up there with the Birkholz line at Blake.
As for Defense and Goaltending probably pretty average.

They will get a much better test this week with games vs Red Wing and away at Breck.

I remember back in Bantams, they had a pretty good goalie in Kevin McMahon. I know he went to BSM, but I didn't see his name on the Varsity or JV roster. What happened to him?

Also, where did these BSM players go?
Trevor Thompson
Drew Breyer

I heard that Coach Johnson's Mom just passed away after a long battle with cancer. Can anyone confirm?

I heard Frakes is at Maple Grove. He ran into some trouble (to say the least) at BSM last year and that is why he is not attending anymore.

McMahon was a great goalie throughout youth hockey. The problem was he was young for his grade so when he finished his Bantam career he was already a Junior and Benilde was/is full of quality goalies. To bad he didn't stay at Orono as he would have been playing Varsity this year as well as last.

Where is he now then? Still at Benilde and not playing or transferred somewhere else?

I saw that Wilson struggled a little bit tonight against STMA. He gave up two goals on like 8 shots or something before I left. What was the final score of Orono v.s. STMA? How Wilson end up doing?

Shots were actually something like 48-24 wilson made 22 stops and the final score was 10-2. Hanson brothers carry team with Hanson on D with 1 goal 3 assists, and Forward Hanson with 2 goals 3 assists.

I highly doubt McMahon would have started over Peterson last year or even Wilson this year

Oh and the whole McMahon thing is he left orono thinking he was gonna be good at Benilde, but in all honesty I do not think he would have beaten out Wilson for the job in Orono if he would have stayed, just my opinion though.

Looks as though kicking coach ryan out has really helped out this team they are off to a lot better start than the last two years.

Playing Dodge County, Monticello and St. Michael? Are you freaking joking?? No offense to any of the above-mentioned clubs, but come on. You're off to a 3-0 start because you have played three of the weakest teams in the state. I assume you're one of the whining mommies or daddies that feels compelled to go after the coach when junior doesn't work hard enough to make the grade.

I think Aaron will do a good job for you - and he'll bail out for greener pastures after the season.

I highly doubt Aaron will bail after this season. Orono should have another great team next season with most of their players returning. However, after next season things are going downhill quickly for the Orono program.

Goaltending will be the problem for Orono this year and the years to come too.

From what I understand of Orono H.S. hockey, it's usually not the coach that bails. It's the parents pushing them out.
