WCHA First Round-(7) Minnesota Duluth @ (4) Colorado College

Post by Lucia4President » Sun Mar 08, 2009 3:13 pm

Colorado College (16-10-10) will welcome the Bulldogs (16-12-8) to Colorado Springs this weekend. UMD beat and tied the Tigers in the only regular season meeting this year, which was in Colorado. However, the Bulldogs haven't been hot lately- they've gone 0-3-2 in their last five, included being swept by Alaska Anchorage at home to finish the year.

Who wins this series, and why?

I'm picking Minnesota Duluth in three. UMD is better than their seed would indicate.

I take the Bulldogs in two. A pissed off team is a scary team to handle. They should be tough for the Tigers.

The Tigers are just plain better than UMD. I like a Tigers sweep.

FRI -
Tigers 2, Bulldogs 1

SAT -
Tigers 5, Bulldogs 3

The Bulldogs are good enough to take a game but not good enough to take the series.

Nice to see the Dogs show up and play like they can. Sounded like they played a great game and hope for a sweep tonight!

All I want to see is a final five without any of the Colorado teams.

Pioneer, you must have missed the 9 Canadians and 1 from Norway on your team when writing the post. Must be the lack of oxygen up there affecting your brain. I don't blame you for not wanting to play the most dominatant team in the WCHA--I wouldn't want to play UND either.

Under five minutes left to go in the third, tUMD still up 3-1.
