I'm a high school player and my season just ended so I'm looking to buy a new pair of skates pretty soon. What are the best skates to buy? Cost not an issue. I'm currently skating with the easton s15's but they only lasted about a year.
I'm no expert, but I'd try them all on and see which ones fit and feel the best. I also think you need to consider the type of skater you are. Some skates will make you bend over more, some will have you more upright. I think you need to go to a pro shop.
the old 9k pumps are the best. i got mine in '05 and they're amazing! may have to replace the blade a few times if they last you that long but i would go with the older version of 9k
Yea I used the old 9K's for 2 and a half seasons and loved them until the backs fell apart, I tried on XXXX's but they were super uncomfortable, i like the comfortability of my S15's but quality isn't the best, they kinda fall apart
If cost isn't an issue, then Graf is your skate. They come in many different models to fit different feet. Frankly, I don't understand why anybody pays $500 for Bauers or CCMs when Graf offers a better skate for a similar price.
It's about feel. I had vapor xxx's for a while, they were fast, but too narrow for my wide feet, I always had nagging discomfort. Went to the bauer 195's and the wider toe box perfectly accomodated my feet. Now I feel like I'm skating in comfortable tennis shoes.
