Ouch. Holy Angels has lost 3 of their top players. Their schedule just got a little more difficult. Any insight into what went on over there? Bianchi might have wished he stayed at Jefferson now that the other players have left.

| I'm just guessing here about Faust, but it looks like he is just playing a few fall games with Austin. He's only played in 4 of their 9 games on 3 weekends. He was not with them this past weekend at Bismarck. |

All three were very random. Not completely sure what set them off but very questionable decisions to say the least. As far as Holy Angels goes they will be a very unpredictable team this season but I think Billy Hengen going on board as associate head coach can make up for the loss of those 3. Time will only tell. |

Unless Billy is going to play, I doubt a coach can make up for the loss of three talented player? |

We'll wait and see. It will be a completely different program over there with him. |

It's true. Story is on the Edmonton Oil Kings website. Stillwater has lost 2 dominant defensemen with Neal Goff and Cody Corbett going to junior hockey.

| We've also learned that playing in the WHL will make him ineligible for college hockey. Interesting decision to say the least. |

Those boys are more then ready to move on to bigger and better things then Minnesota high school hockey. |

The majority of those boys' hockey careers are also over at age 20. I think part of the attraction is that nobody cares if you don't bother to go to school. |

| Well, maybe he is good enough to play and wants to take his game to the next level. Mn has this bubble and people don't realize that there is better hockey outside of mn. college hockey is not the route for everyone. if hockey doesn't work, he has college paid for him......so there you go........good luck to him!!! |

| Most Mn players careers are over after hs. Playing major is the quickest way to the nhl or in the minor leagues. Major junior players can play college hockey in Canada and can get an education if they choose. Another option for players, I believe the Sauer boys from St Cloud took this option. |

What's worse? Losing them to juniors, or losing them to HM? |

Most players who go Major Junior NEVER make it to the NHL. Most will try to prove themselves in the minor leagues after they age out of juniors. Most minor leagues barely pay a living wage and don't prepare them at all for life outside hockey. Playing in the minor leagues voids the education package offered in Major Juniors.
This is why most Minnesotans opt to play college hockey... they know better. Some Minnesotans believe they probably wouldn't have been able to cut it in college, hockey or no hockey, so Major Juniors is probably a better option for them. Some kids (usually not Minnesotans) are smart enough to graduate college but decide to try and get into the NHL one or two years earlier by playing Major Juniors.
It is what it is. Thankfully, I've got smart kids and we're not big into gambling. If my kids ever get good enough at hockey to get the opportunity, I know what I'd advise them to do. |

Cody might wake up on a few -35 Degree Edmonton mornings this winter and have to go get on a long bus ride to Saskatchewan. He'll wonder why mom's not fixing him breakfast before a warm, short car ride to class at Stillwater High. Phil Housley can't be that bad, can he? He might even wish he was sitting in Religion class staring at some girl's legs over at the evil green empire in Maplewood. |

Cody wasn't doing so hot in school is the rumor. WHL is a very good league, he is a big boy and can hold his own |
