graceful skaters/speedsters/biggest hitters

The skaters that are most effortless, fluid, beautiful, or whatever you wanna term it.

I'm going with a less known name in David Graham. I think he played on Hill's D in '97. He just seemed to glide along rather beautifully.

Edit: Meant to include the other two categories too. Please add the team and year if it's not obvious.

Biggest hitters: Brendan Baker (Edina '08), Heinrich, and that kid from the Duluth Marshall around '06-07. The coach ended up pulling him for much of the championship game I believe cause he was taking so many penalties. I swear he joined the team just so he could hit people.

I loved watching Mike Crowley (Bloomington Jefferson 1992-94). When he played, he was a man among boys.

I'll second the Crowley vote, smoothest HS skater I ever saw.

Nick Leddy. Unreal skater. Has a lot to do with him being so effective in the NHL this young.

I think Graham graduated in 98. They had a great d-core that year with Graham, Dave Tanabe and Zach Scribner.

Did Graham play at UNO too? I know Scribner did. Tanabe was a excellent player. Left early to Ann Arbor, played at Wisconsin and had a few good years in the show before knee injuries ended a very promising career.

Watching the tourney this year I thought Charlie Sampair was a very good skater. Also both Kuchera brothers from Eagan are fast and smooth on their skates.

John DeCenzo, Grand Rapids, 1980. Also, in the pre-dump-and-chase era, the best stickhandler I ever saw.

I remember Joe Long from Elk River being pretty graceful. He was always a step ahead of everyone on the ice.

+1! A man among boys in his era. Most likely the same with Mayasich but that's even before MY time.

Labosky was one of the quickest players that I saw in the tourney this year, any space and he would zip right around defenders.

Charlie Sampair was another guy with a lot of speed. When he got going through the neutral zone he was really difficult to keep up with.

Heinrich was easily the biggest hitter that I saw this year. He delivered some bone rattling hits at state this year.

Toby Peterson wasn't that fast. He had incredible rink vision, great hands, was a smooth skater and was an excellent passer. Not a fast skater though.
