Yeah, terrible coaches
Everything about that year was off. They had talent but never used it the right way. 10 seniors, yet the played a freshman line constantly during playoffs. Plus the center high looked like a joke. Glad to see scouts found something out of the madness.

maybe on the talent- but if that number of kids are getting junior opportunities are right something must have been wrong. I heard they played for the future- took a ton of freshman on JV and played 3 on varsity- only 1 belonged- the other 2 never played 1 game of JV. With a 500 record how else could you explain that? Good luck to those kids in juniors!

I just think they should have had a lot better season with the kids that they had. The freshman line had a total of about 8 points all year, And yes pohl should be coach i don't know why he wouldn't be. I believe they had a little above average though cause the kids going to juniors isn't some junior B teams. Langley Rivermen(BCHL) are a bit new but still a great team that produces great players to move on normally to D1 schools. and Humboldt Broncos(SJHL) been around for a long time, one alumni is curt giles as we all know, and won national titles twice in the past 8 years. Also word is mike Mcmahon going to Aberdeen Wing(NAHL) not a bad team as well. So i believe they had the talent just wasn't used right.

This one is hard to figure. None of these kids will be hurt by playing another year of high school. I'm having a hard time seeing the upside to it. It just makes you wonder if there isn't a reason they all want out. If they are all that good wouldn't you stay and try and win a state title? I know very little about Cretin's program but this seems odd. Leaving for the NA seems silly to me and the Langley team wasn't very competitive either. If a kid is good enough the opportunity will be there after high school....whats the hurry?

Couldn't agree more. Other than small town teams or teams who are in need of players, freshmen should play Bantams. It happens often where a freshman plays varsity and only contributes a handful of points, which the same total could have been produced by a senior who got cut, or a junior/sophomore who got placed on JV. I understand the theory of coaches developing younger players for the future of the team, but in cases with freshmen who won't be in the top handful of scorers on their team, have them play bantams and have an older player be the role player in their place.observer wrote:Almost all freshmen should play bantam. If not first two lines, for sure, play bantam.

Where did Stang go?hocktalk10 wrote:They all graduated, just were not used very well last year is all. BUT jack stang who would start for his second year on first line left. Due to they way the program is going he didn't like it i guess. which brings us back to the thought of how the players are being used.

How does Jack Stang swing going to STA, and be able to play varsity hockey? Also, anyone knowing anything about CDH hockey knows they have played center high in the d zone for years. They did win a state championship recently with it as well.
I am not sure having Pohl run the program would make that much difference, but I may agree it might be time for a change of the guard. But it is hard to fight the success the program has had with players moving on.
