Junior Tryout News

Post by observer » Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:01 am

Any news from the junior tryouts? I see Dubuque posted their initial 30 man roster which includes a few Minnesotans; AJ Fossen, Eric Freschi and Connor Girard.

Other news or 30 man rosters?

A few kids from Minnesota (4 at least) made the team in Indiana. I'm not sure all of them will report in September. At least one will most likely come back for his senior year of HS.

That's off by one player. It should be 25 and 14. Right now they're showing 26 and 13. At least that's what I've been told.

The USHL has some updated information on their site. The site shows rosters for 2012-2013 but they don't appear to be updated. Some teams show a new player or two but not all. Some still list players from last year's team. Hopefully each team will now go in and update their 2012-2013 roster.

Very little new info yet. I don't anticipate anything serious until after the Fall Classic. They did post the schedule though: http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.com/l ... edule.html

The USHL teams have now cut their rosters down to returning players with some teams showing as few as 6 players. Some teams have had their final camps so the next step will be posting initial 2012-2013 rosters. It will be interesting to watch them get to 25 first and then 23 for the season opener.

Impressive, did UMD lose that many players? Seems like a fairly large incoming class

USHL Chicago Steel

No Minnesotans. Anyone know where the two Pieper's are playing this fall? 13 newcomers which is a big reload.

They both made the final 30 at Indianapolis in June. Both had a really good camp.

Did Chicago trade them or release them? Indiana is projected to be the better team so it will be interesting if they stick on the final roster.
