Chase Perry's stats are quite impressive. I have only seen one elite game, any others on the list surprising anyone?

CP is #1 in minutes played, GAA, and SV%.

If this kid hits his stride for HS tourney run ...

When a goalie kick's the net off 10 times a game when the pressure is on it helps lower the goals against

Very true if the referees are not calling them for delay of game penalties.

Ack. I call BS on where this thread is going. Goalies who make elites want to be there and want to stop shots legit, not weasel out of it by kicking out the posts.

How many skaters in the elite league are taking dives every game? It happens, yes -- but it's the exception, not the rule These kids are competitors by nature, not wussies looking for an easy out.

Probably elite league should use screw-down posts anyway, with the speed and contact of the game at that level. If the D3 college men are doing it, probably the HS elite should too. In fact, I'll be watching University of St Thomas play the National Development Team next week, and I'm betting they'll use the Big Boy goal pegs.

Shinbone has this one spot on. . . .

Goalies are taught to hit the post as the ending point of whatever move it is, whether a pad slide or just a lateral move when the puck is low. Are people saying they should just be gentle to make sure those poor posts don't get dislodged????

Do some goalies intentionally hit them a bit hard when they are in trouble?? Of course! Do some forwards intentionally ice the puck or take the offsides when they are beat on a play or are on the wrong side of an odd man? Of course! Why aren't we hearing people whine about this. Why shouldn't they get delay penalties???

Bottom line, the posts are set for safety. Until they choose to make every arena put in the soft, sunken posts, we will have this. Part of the game!!!
