It was a section and conference game I'm fairly certain, though conferences are completely irrelevant. I wish the MSHSL would follow Dave Esse's recommendation and delete all conferences and base schedules strictly on section assignment with 2 game vs. every team in a section.MNhockey29 wrote:Was the Andover/Elk River game a section or conference game?

Cannot and won't happen, there are many sports to work with than just hockey.TheHockeyDJ wrote:It was a section and conference game I'm fairly certain, though conferences are completely irrelevant. I agree it won't happen, but how do you mean to cannot happen? Obviously they couldn't have two match ups in football, but they could play one.Zamman wrote:Cannot and won't happen, there are many sports to work with than just hockey.TheHockeyDJ wrote:It was a section and conference game I'm fairly certain, though conferences are completely irrelevant. I also don't think it would be a great idea because then some teams in some regions would get great match ups all season and others would be terrible. It could work if we divided up into 8 sections, each into two subsections. Top 4 in each subsection make the playoffs...or something similar.

Why can't they eliminate conferences in just hockey? They make absolutely no sense. I think that you could have some agreements in scheduling, but to keep standings for a conference even now is just a bunch of nonsense. Winning a conference is the equivalent of getting a yellow participation ribbon on track and field day in elementary school.Zamman wrote:Cannot and won't happen, there are many sports to work with than just hockey.TheHockeyDJ wrote:It was a section and conference game I'm fairly certain, though conferences are completely irrelevant.
